Carl and I started our trip with a couple days in London. We flew in to Gatwick on August 13. He started chatting girls up on the train into London. We had no problems meeting up with Chris and since it was his birthday, we knew it was going to be a big night for us all. We went for dinner at an Indian restaurant with Chris and his brother Al before meeting up with his new friends, Diana and Liana (sp?). We went salsa dancing at a place called Club Havana. We had lots of drinks that night because the place had no air conditioning and we nicknamed it the sweat box. The next day we toured around London with Chris and met up with some Spanish friends of his, Txell (pronounced shell) and her ... read more

I awoke this morning (Monday) to see a beautiful sunny day yet within half an hour of that comforting window scene, the clouds were back and the rain started tumbling down. I had intended to do a fair amount of walking and camera snapping today but the weather has prevented any extensive wandering. I did though decide to go to the Imperial War Museum, which is about a 15-minute walk from the flat here in Borough. The Imperial War Museum was founded in 1917 to record the story of the Great War and the contributions made to it by the peoples of the British Empire. As the British Empire involved itself in other wars (namely the Second World War and beyond) the museum's scope grew to include anything that documents its involvement in war. Incredibly the ... read more

Hi all... Ok first of all Very sorry that I have not been updating my Travel Blog.. seemed too busy, but will be more vigilant now.. I promise.. I arrived on Friday August 5 in the morning and went directly to Oxford where Lori met me at the Bus station with a beer.. haha well not quite but it didn't take us long to crack the first beer. I spent the weekend in Oxford checking out the sights and the pubs. Lori and I took a day and went to Stonehenge and Salisbury. We spent all of 40 minutes at Stonenhenge.. really there's not a lot to do.. but we loved Salisbury.. the Catherdral is amazing and there are ruins of a medieval ... read more

Did I mention that I was overzealous on Saturday morning and woke up at 3 AM to get showered and ready for my 6:15 AM train to London from Edinburgh? Actually, the truth is, I didn't have a real good concept of time at the moment I woke up. I just woke up because I heard doors slamming, toilets flushing, and lots of movement characteristic of awakenings. And besides, the light outside City Centre Guest House looked deceptively like "break of dawn" light. In reality, people were just getting back from a long night of partying and getting "crunk", as Joey would say. So... at 4 AM... I was ready to climb Mt. Everest sans sherpa! Holy shit was I ready! I should have known. In the light of my little mini-flashlight, I could see the ... read more

Our last night in London, we leave for Prague tomorrow morning which should be fantastic. London has been beautiful, ran around a lot today and saw the sights. Went to the National Gallery and saw some exquisite art pieces from Van Gogh, Da Vinci, Monet, Vermeer and Michaelangelo. Taking a while to settle down, my mindset has not yet shifted into the travel phase. It's a royal pain having ot unpack your pack everytime you want to grab your toothbrush or a new pair of socks. cheers guys Talk to you in Praha Lloyd... read more

Almost time to go!!!!!!!!!! Got my A-level results the other day, had a manic morning phoning Warwick to make sure I'd got my place, and I'm on the Biol Sci course!!! Woo woo! So have been trying to sort everything for Uni while checking everything is ready to go! Phoned up Singapore Airlines today to reconfirm my flights, and for what felt like forever the lady tried to tell me that I hadn't made a reservation for Monday, although I made seat preferences on my booking about a week ago! Crazy! So all sorted there. Have also packed my backpack and hand luggage, and am sucessfully miles under my allowence. Maybe I do just need to add the kitchen sink........ Backpack weighs in at 10.5kg which I think is pretty impressive considering winter coat, spare shoes ... read more
