Een man waar ik ... read more

Good Afternoon!! How are you all?? So here is my first article and yes i am still in the UK!! But i did promise that I would put my itinerary on the site so peeps would know where i am going to be (and also acting as an added security element!) I would have done this sooner, but i have been otherwise engaged with other activities (such as deliberating whether i am going to use a suitcase or a backpack!!). There is a plethora of information that i have been trying to disseminate- from friends, family, the net, various book, guides, maps, newspapers and frankly its getting a little muddled!! There is part of me that wants to be prepared for this as best i can, but there is also another part of me that just ... read more

Planning We haven't booked any tickets yet but think we're going to start in Japan. We have sold the house and handed in our notices though so we're definitely going somewhere! This is just a test to see if we can master this blog thing. The next words should be in bold, and the ones after in italics, hopefully!... read more

Still not quite finished with work yet, finishing on 29th Feb but taking that whole last week as holiday so really come 4pm today I will have only 6 full working days left and believe me I am counting (sometimes quite loudly) Just wanted to put a quick post on here before flying out to my first adventure so that you all know that you have got the right blog and can check up on me regularly throughout my travels. The take off date is planned for March 15th 2008 giving me a few weeks grace prior to that to say my goodbyes and gather up a few more travel essentials before I go. Will prob be way too impatient and write a few more stroppy "I can't wait to go" blogs before take off, but ... read more

Hi Everyone Well, Here I am, finally back in lovely Brum. Actually I've been home for a couple of days but its been really crazy! I had a reasonably ok journey home. My flight from BA to New York was 10hr 30 mins and it wasn't the best. I had a seat in the last row and so the wall behind my chair meant I couldn't recline the seat, not too much of a problem for me though and I managed to sleep for about 7 hours in an upright position. I arrived in New York at 6 :30 am and only had two hours to collect and recheck my Luggage (good old American Airlines!) I was a little worried about making my second flight but I needn't have bothered.... It turns out my flight was ... read more

Hi again, We've come back to a really automnal weather - makes me think of Birmingham, dunno why... I spend nine whole months in Birmingham, England - Quite liked it, apart from the fact that I was loads of miles away from my man - who wants to travel must sacrifice! When you think first of Birmingham, you think coal, dirt and industry, don't you? I must say that I was quite astonished by the city! It is no more an industrial city (at least not in the city center), rather a commercial city. The biggest attraction there: the Bullring, one of the biggest Shopping malls in England (and perhaps in Europe, I should check). There are about 1000 shops in a 20 minutes walk perimeter. Apart from this hole in the middle of the city, ... read more

Not my work - that of Simon Barnes of the Times. Best piece of sports writing I've read in years. August 27, 2005 Australia driven by the madness of King Shane By Simon Barnes, Chief Sports Writer at Trent Bridge BUT let me draw your attention to the madness of King Shane. To the trained observer, it is becoming increasingly clear that Shane Warne is going off his chump. I shall run through the symptoms in a moment, but the reason for his developing madness is his singleminded attempt to retain the Ashes for Australia all by himself. I still wouldn’t put it beyond him to do it. Watch him fielding at first slip, a man possessed by an insane spirit of restlessness. He is desperate for the ball, willing it to come to him even ... read more
