We can, and don't call me shirley!! Now todays blog is a little late due to me not being able to acces the site yesterday as it was having a "Timmy Fit". It wil also have to be a bit shorter as RandomMan has had a Random Accident, with a stanley Knife. I'm now minus part of my left typing finger!! Picture to follow if we get enough requests!! Any how, monday morning was spent mostly in bed as we didn't have to go to work. I had planned to go to the pub pre-match but remebered that on the 2 or 3 occasions i had done so this season, the game had ended in a draw. so i sacrificed my beer for the 2 extra points, well i hoped. Willis and I met up with ... read more

We arrived in Leysdown to find that true to form it was rammed!!and rammed with chavs and pikeys!! People with more gold than Mr T, ... read more

RandomMan and Willis started another saturday at home with a bonza idea! Willis decided to get £10 put on her pay as you go mobile and ring "the man down under" and pretend to be pearl heenaan, diving legend! According to the orange website it would cost 40p per minute!! The phone call was duely made and RandomMan had to hide under the covers as The man down under asked who could possibly be calling him in his van on a saturday nite!! Once he figured out who it was he put another shrimp on the barbie and chatted for about half an hour to RandomMan and Willis. RandomMan even had a chat with the Wilsation to keep up with the gossip. Once we had draged ourselves out of bed it was time to take a ... read more

Ok - so it is not the most glamorous part of England. In fact, we are probably in the trashiest area of Kent so I can't promise that these images or this blog is going to be all that thrilling. However, I thought it might be interesting for you to see where it is that we live and a tiny part of the our surroundings. Let me tell you a little about our surroundings. Chatham is a town I would liken to Elizabeth. We have been warned to to go out at night alone. But it actually isn't all that bad. We are in a part of it where there is an army base and a big appartment complex called "The Eye," and because of this there is a lot of security in the area. about ... read more

Ahoy! Today's fun: I went to Canterbury today and had a great time! There are lots of interesting shops and little windy streets; a wandering pedestrians dream. Did a bit of shopping and stopped for lunch and tea at Poppins (c'mon, I had to go because of the name... it said "Pop-in for a bite". I love the UK), then went to the Canterbury Cathedral. The Cathedral was absolutely amazing. I hardly know how to put to words how I felt about it. It was just an amazing experience, awe inspiring and beautiful and it really hit something in me. I don't mean to sound weird about it but it was sort of an emotional experience. I don't really get that way about churches and stuff normally. It's not that it was a religious experience for ... read more

Well I finally made it to the UK! I took a bus last night at 9pm from Liege, Belgium, and got to London around 6am. The train to Whitstable left at 7:30, I got there around 10ish I think. I wandered until I found someone who could directions to the stree Alice's sister lives on. I walked there and met Esther and Jason and their two adorable kids, Harry (turned 9 today!) and William, who's 3 years old. They have all adopted me into their household for a couple days, and I think it will be a blast. The kids are full of energy and fun. William kept climbing up into my lap as I was trying to sort my pictures on the computer. I showed him what a map of Canada looked like and he ... read more

Hi everyone!!! Well i suppose I better give you all the inside info on my teaching experience so far. It went like this in my first week: 1st day-Absolutely hated it!!!I came home telling Luke I hated it and questioning whether or not I was gonna be able to handle it for 6 months. The kids tried testing the water with me by being smart asses and the like, but I had to let them know I wasn't gonna take any crap (I gave out two lunchtimes and did a lot of evil staring etc). 2nd day-Much, much better. The kids must have taken the hint on the first day. 3rd day-even better. With each day of teaching it seems to get better, except my year 10 class are up and down all the time (they ... read more

Well we have been here in Rochester for 3 days now, and it is quite a nice little town. We are staying at a lovely Guest house called Grayling Guest House on St Margarets Street, and just 2mins down the road from us is the Rochester Cathedral and Rochester Castle. We have been inside both and they were really cool. It's like going back in time, the medieval ages. The main street here is called Rochester High Street (most main streets are called that) and it has lots of little shops crafts, gifts, clothes, those wierd shops with dragon/wizards/crystals and stuff, little grocery stores, and lots of others. We walk down the shop every day. At night time the street looks really pretty with the Christmas lights still zig-zagging across the street. The street is cobble ... read more

Geo: 51.5002, -0.126236Today began with breakfast at 7:15. Same deal, in the hotel basement. It's a bit overpriced, but considering the convenience of being able to eat and then run back to the rooms for a bit before departure it's worth the extra cost in terms of saving time. After breakfast, we and FU headed toward Dover. Ah, if only it was that simple. Getting out of Central London and onto a main motorway is a task in itself. After much meandering, with Jake at the wheel, Barb at the map, and Rich in charge of reading signs, we finally managed our way to the snowy white cliffs. Once there, we headed straight for Dover Castle, which was closed to the public due to the hazardous conditions. (A few inches of snow!) Fortunately, the Napoleonic and ... read more
