Since I've been back, I've mostly just been working on Studio. For our project, we are designing architecture themed London walks, as well as a few stops (for lunch and afternoon tea) along the way. My walk will take you through the Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, The British Museum, Royal Academy of Art, and probably the Whitechapel Art Gallery. These spaces all show ways of new and old architecture, some of which interact with the exhibits. So last week I found my spots and this week I am designing the lunch spot. Over the weekend we went to Bath, England which is a little northwest of London (like an hour and a half train northwest). Bath is a beautiful city! It has the only hotspring in England, the Romans found it and built ... read more

Yesterday I went into central London for a photo scavenger hunt. It was fun and our tired feet were rewarded at the end of the day. Our group was the fastest to figure out all the clues so we won hooded sweatshirts. Here are the pictures. I hope you enjoy!... read more

If you are ever traveling along the London Underground and have the opporunity to recieve a free paper (which WILL happen), take one. There are many different papers which are freely distributed and the perfect size to read during your commute. Most articles are about London, celebrities and usually at least something about the US or Obama once a day, plus they are great to check your horoscope! ;) But what I hadn't realized until today was that The London Paper (one of the papers) has a section on funny stories across the news. This was a good find.... NIGERIA. Police in Lagos are holding a goat on susicion of attempted armed robbery. Vigilantes claim the animal is an armed robber who used black magic to transform himself into a goat after trying to steal a ... read more

Hey everyone. Well, I haven't updated in ages it seems but basically life has gone back to a much more normal pace. Lynne is working in Abu Dhabi, she left just after New Years and then the Ireland kids went home as well. So, I work a bit different days - Sunday - Thursday with Fri and Sat as my time off. Dave coaches Rugby so I look after Rhiannon as it's cold and ugh outside for her, not to mention boring! I cant say too much exciting stuff has happened I've been to Nottinghill and Oxford Street several times. On Tuesday there was an Alpha Reunion which was awesome. I got to meet up with a bunch of the people in my group and chatted with people from the other groups as well, looks as ... read more

Yesterday was extremely “London-filled”… my class went to The Museum of London for our history portion. Unfortunately we had to take another train, we ran into our first tube delays. One girl thought she heard that a person was stuck under the train! Let’s hope not! The museum was a history of London, pre-history through the great fire (1666). I love that every day my history class is a field trip! After lunch two other girls and I walked past St. Paul’s and over the millennium bridge to walk along the south bank of the river. Every view was 100% London… St. Paul’s behind us, we were on the bridge, Tate Modern ahead of us, Tower Bridge and London Bridge to our left and the London Eye to our right. We got some cool pictures! Then ... read more

So.. I am finally here in London! I got here yesterday morning around 6:30 am London time (which is 1:30 am at home.. we debated to call people and see if they were just walking back from the bars in Lincoln since it was the last Saturday night before school started). We had to take a 35 minute train from the airport to the tube and then take the tube and then walk about a block - this is with 2 carry-ons and 2 very large, very heavy suitcases and sets of stairs and curves (I have no idea how the disabled get around here!). After this adventure we come to realize that we can't get into our hostel room until 12:30, so we dropped off our bags and then waited for Rumiko (our teacher) and ... read more

Well well, here we are folks at the end of the trip, only 3 more sleeps till the self destructive 24hr flight home to reality... But what a week it has been. Lets start with stockholm, in one word magnificent. An amazing archipeligo and beautiful park lands, and freezing *%&#ing cold. -2 degrees was the average for the weekend that we were there. Seems like a long time ago now, but the old town was lovely, and we had some fantastic meals, i can recommend roast elk, supperb. got stupidly cold one day walking around the open air museum, saw reindeer, ate about 4 rounds of pastries and then walked to the lookout tower at 2.30pm for sunset (yes i am serious). The cold makes you so tired, proof of this is whilst watching the lovely ... read more
