We did it! On our trip to London we bought ourselves our very first home in the UK....a 1984 VW Transporter Campervan. We had been looking around on Gumtree for some time for a suitable van....cheap and nasty being pretty much the sole requirements. Found this one...went down to London, had a look and going completely against Jason's usual decision making process (look at loads, take your time and make an educated decision using logic and practicality) we decided to go with our heart and just buy her! We're glad we did as she will now be able to take us all on our trip to Scotland...should be a lot more comfy then cramming four of us into Vicky the VW (Karen and Mick's car) or Kit. What a whirlwind it has been! I will warn you in advance that this blog is rather long - loads to catch you up on! So grab a cuppa and get comfy…. I arrived in London on 14th September after an amazing 5 month trip. I keep forgetting I have travelled for so long - must get some photos out to remind me!After I arrived in London I headed to Clapham Junction to stay with Robyn. She was at work so Jess met me at her place and we got ready to go out for drinks and to watch the England v South Africa game at the pub. We traveled from Victoria to London on the way to Tanzania anticipating a week or two in England to visit relatives and see the sights before moving on to Tanzania. Bureaucracy being what it is, our teaching certificates and residency permits necessary to enter Tanzania and work there were not approved in time for us to arrive in Dodoma in mid-July as originally planned. As a result, our departure from Britain was delayed until August 30, at which time we will fly to Dar es Salaam and then drive roughly 500 kms west to Dodoma. Given the length or our stay in London, nearly two months, we did a lot of visiting, sightseeing and travel in England. Hiiiii everybody! Sorry about the very long space between updates of this thing but for the past two weeks I have been a) staying in a friend of a friends house, and b) staying in a hostel, so we had no way to access the internet unless we were willing to pay. And seeing as Alex and I are struggling backpackers we were not willing to pay. Unfortunately I have a horrible memory sooo I will only be able to remember portions of what we've been doing and definitely not in the right order but I will try and make a bit of sense atleast.
