Only 9 weeks to go before my 9 month adventure begins. Flights are booked, Injections done, shopping started and only a few more things to pay for. It's all becoming very real and exciting. Even my leaving party organisation has begun! 8 Weeks Volunteering in a Cambodian orphanage and then 7 months in an African one. And all on my larry! What have i let myself in for? Hopefully the experience of a lifetime...and who knows? I may end up doing this for the rest of my life. I got a world map a few weeks ago and my new mission in life is to cover it in as many red dots as possible...so far there are only 8. All family holidays but as of August this year, it gets a bit more exciting. I know ... read more

Well, what a weird weekend. After working for only 3 days a week I felt a break was needed so took Friday off. It was my old school pal Kesh's 25th Birthday so I headed to Brighton to help with the celebrations. Tamsin, Kesh and I met at Kesh's flat. Very Brighton studentesk (lots of stuff everywhere! and arty!). After a chat we headed to town to 'bumble round'. We discovered some interesting facial hair, and then learnt it was to be the International Moustache and Beard Championship final the next day! Wow!! We had a drink and browsed the shops before getting BBQ stuff and heading to the beach. We chilled out on the pebbles by the West Pier. A weirdo joined us (who wasnt invited) after moaning about our BBQ smoke, he stayed long ... read more

Friday 10 August - Left work early but due to horrendous problems on the road, decided not to leave until later to avoid the large queues. As I was already at Wayne’s, Stella and I watch TV and got pizza ready for us all to have before leaving. Ricky and Ian joined us and we all travelled in two cars arriving about 9.30 pm. Had jelly babies and haribo’s to munch en route. As we ate and drank before we left after going over Dartford Bridge, I needed the loo so stopped at a garage to 'use their facilities'. Getting out I stubbed my toe but thought nothing of it. Only garage which didn't have a loo but went to club house next door where very nice gentleman allowed me to sneak into the loo. Whilst ... read more

On Friday afternoon we were suppost to be leaving for Eastbourne. However the traffic news told us the M25 was closed!!! So we left several hours later and arrived in Eastbourne later than planned. Our first day diving we had to meet earlier than breakfast so missed out. We stocked up on crossants, juice and sandwiches at Asda and headed to the boat. The sea was flat, the sun shined... perfect diving conditions! :) We did 2 dives, the Dutchess and the Brodrick, both wrecks. We saw cuttlefish, lobsters, crabs, lots of fish, anemonies. It was great, the sea was warm and everyone had a great time (appart from Gus who was a bit sick!!). After diving we headed back into the port. Wayne and I headed to Pevensey Castle, making use of our English Heritage ... read more
