My last day at Anjali House was really nice...we spent the morning playing games and dancing and in the afternoon we watched Finding Nemo. My last English lesson was good too. Because we were still doing the letter G I made it a bit more interesting. You see, games start with G and Hangman has a G in it so that's what we did for an hour. Then I gave them some smelly pens as a little goodbye pressie. We had a lot of fun and it was really sad when it came to the end of the day and it was time to say goodbye. All the kids gathered downstairs and I was given my certificate and lots of cards made by the kids. Some of the boys even picked me some flowers and made ... read more

Hello everyone - it's Beeny rabbit here. She has packed her cases and I am wondering if she is going to put me in the rucsac or a case. I like peeking out of the rucsac - can't stand being in the hold - its b**** freezing in there. I like going on these trips with her - she let me sit on the dash in NZ when we were driving the camper van. I think they call them RVs in Canada and I have seen a picture of the one she is getting - it's VERY BIG!! Last time she called the camper "Betty" but this one doesn't look like a "Betty" to me...but then I am only a rabbit - wot would I know. I hope we dont meet any scary bears - teddy ... read more

Hello to all friends and family, Most of you know that I have been travelling here and there in the last 18 months since the big trip to Down Under. That was the first time I used Travelblog and it was a great way to keep in touch as well as record all the "happanings". Well on Thursday I will be flying off to Calgary at the start of a 6 week trip in Canada. For the first 2 weeks Suz and Tracie will be with me and we are "doing" The Rockies to Vancouver - and then I will continue my trip to Ontario - visiting "old" friends and making new ones with the help of my Intervac hospitality swaps. So I think I am at the stage of all systems go now - only ... read more

Shane Summary: Still in Eastbourne just catching up with aunties & chilling out. Public Acknowledgement: Big public thank you to Catherine Thorne & Cath Milner for moving all our furniture into Dana Street. Thanks girls Apology & Answer: Forgot to give you the answer to my teaser in the last blog. The other British city that has World Heritage City status is Edinburgh. Interestingly that is under threat according to our tour guide who took us around Edinburgh when we were there. Apparently the local council has made a few rash planning decisions which has now placed that status in jeopardy. Welcome & Thanks: To new readers & followers of our trip (Sarah). Thanks for the feedback & messages we get. I must say the Shane Summary is proving quite popular Visit: Lauren’s Blog: http://gawnetravelling.blogspot.com/ Claire’s ... read more

Hello. A slower update than anticipated. The Shane Summary: Catch up on some stuff I missed in the last blog. Did a 13 day bus tour of Ireland & Scotland. Hired a car & drove from Edinburgh to Eastbourne staying in Cheshire on the way. Had a great time. The News in full: Cath Thorne was the first correct answer to the quiz. Winchester Cathedral was recorded by the New Vaudeville Band (forgot about Wikipeadia). Missed a few highlights in my last blog: London - Dot riding on the London eye with Tim. Highest Dot's been since she had laughing gas during birth!; Winston Churchill's War Time Cabinet Rooms (do yourself a favour); Imperial War Museum; Covent Garden which is the former London Fruit & Veg Market & now a market of stalls & shops with ... read more

Hello all, here's some pics from Eastbourne, lots of zimmer frames and little old ladies. ;-) Just kidding, it was very nice, Carols' friend Keith, who lives in Eastbourne, was our tour guide for the day. We caught the train from Lancing, changed at Brighton, trains that is. ;-) On the pier there is a camera obscura, built in the late 1800's and it's still working, amazing. We had a fish and chip lunch with a lager, or was it two, on the pier as well. Enjoy the pics, Bye. :-)... read more

Being in 6th Grade I had to decide if I wanted to be part of a School exchange to Eastbourne, England or not. I myself decided yes, my parents agreed. First of all you have to be sure of one thing: Being on a School exchange does not mean holiday. In fact you have to live the life of an english pupil 24-7! Or in my case 24-14! I had to spend 14 days in a bording school with some of my class mates from Germany. The school was placed right besides the cliffs and the sea. Eastbourne is a city located at the sout coast of England. It is a quiete city with nice little streets and a village-flair. If you have been around in Eastbourne for 1 day you know where to go and ... read more

Hi to all following our blog Libertad is straining at her moorings ,desperate to set her sails and head west and south ,since my last entry we have completed some sea trials .It was intended to sail to Dieppe, but the French fishermen had other ideas, blockading every French port from Dunkirk to Cherbourg, protesting about the cost of fuel the price of Gitanes and the plaugue of English tourist infesting their beaches. So we decided to visit the Solent once again.Leaving Sovereign Harbour just an hour before the top of the tide with a fresh 3/4 easterly, it was kite up all the way to the Looe channel.Arriving a little late for fine dining in Gosport, we ate dinner from the dog bowls! (dehydrated Curry at least 10 years old) underway.Arriving at Gosport Marina in ... read more

We left Nounsley and arrived at Battle at 3pm. We had a late lunch and looked around the Abbey and battlefield. It was beautiful, very educational and well worth the visit.
