Hola! Today our update comes to you from La Rambla in the middle of Barcelona! We have been traveling lots in the last little while, so there is lots to update you all on. We left London nice and early on Tuesday morning to start our TopDeck Tour, traveling to Dover and catching the ferry to Calais, arriving in Paris late in the afternoon. There are 34 people on our tour - 2 Americans, 1 Japanese guy, 2 Koreans and the rest Aussies and Kiwis, a nice healthy rivalry present between the latter! On our first night in Paris we all had dinner in our hotel restaurant, then went out on a night tour of the city, seeing the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees and all of the other sights lit up and ... read more

Today we spent most of the day at the beach, it was 29C outside, absolutley beatiful. We laid in the sand, and waded in the medeterranian. GORGEOUS. We then went for an awsome seafood lunch on the peir beside the beach which was also lovley. (The food and the view, both) We then got back on our tour bus thing and went to the Zoo! It was pretty neat... much like any other zoo but we thought it would be a fun thing to do. Now we are back at the hotel for a rest before dinner. (And to wash all the sand off that is still hiding in our clothes and toes) Everything is so great here, we both think it´s really neat how many people are following our blogs! Anyway tomorrow is our last ... read more

K večeru jsme navštívili Ramóna, u kterého jsme strávili vel... read more

The Spanish have a way of celebrating the week of Easter that is very unique and diverse, and in no way involves bunnies and eggs. For centuries, they have celebrated Semana Santa (Holy Week) in a very traditional way. It begins on Palm Sunday and ends the following Easter Sunday. The holiday, which is most popular in Andalucia (the region of Spain in which Granada is located) is known for it's stunning processions. In each procession there are either one of two very elaborately decorated 'floats' that contain a statue of either a saint, the Virgin Mary, or Jesus Christ, proceeded by a band and people dressed in typical Semana Santa robes. The statues are carried on the shoulders of 30-40 people that walk in a certain step that makes the statue sway back and ... read more

A group of us went to a bullfight tonight at Las Ventas (I think I got the right name). One of the guys in our group said the ring at Plaza de Toros holds 25,000 people and is the largest in the world. After watching the fight, I can see both sides of the argument - on one hand, I really respect the art of the sport, but on the other hand, it would be better if they didn't kill the bull (or at least didn't stab it multiple times before they killed it). Although the bull is injured, weak, and disoriented by the time the matador gets in the ring, the cape waving and dodging of the bull really is quite beautiful - almost like a dance. I could definitely appreciate the talent it ... read more
