We visited Mykonos, Greece today after a day and a half of sailing. ALL buildings are white there (seriously ALL of them), so it can make it easy to get turned around. To get the the island, they piled us in little motor boats to take us there. After we arrived, we had lunch in a little cafe that sat out on the sidewalk. Checked out some shops, then sat on a brick ledge and dangled our feet in the Med Sea. Good times. We met a couple of umm 'senior' ladies that enjoy finding Tracee and I to just sit and chat. They make things pretty interesting. Oh, and did I mention that they are INSANE? heh heh. :) Well, not much more on Mykonos but Turkey tomorrow! WOOT WOOT! p.s. Also met a, ... read more

Well we are now on the island of Paros, and have not done much exploring as yet. The main reason being Teresa (me) is still sick and doesn't have the energy to do much. We decided to go to the doctor today, as I am getting no better. To my suprise I apparently have Pneumonia, the doctor was not happy with me and asked why I did not come earlier. He says 'its serious u know' Well I don't think I have Pneumonia, but I have lots of drugs to prove it, hope the police don't check my bags. I have to have 3 needles a day in the bum (ouch) for 3 days and also take medicine, tablets and a puffer. All this for a cold ha ha......cough cough......Well i am unsure about the whole ... read more

Oh my god, it was raining a bit yesterday!! No rain all winter and then it arrives with me!! They are preparing to batten down the hatches this weekend as their is a storm due!! Still warm enough to go out in shorts and vest top though!! Well the detox lasted a total of about 2 days, (better than nothing!!). Holiday mode officially ends on Wednesday (that'll be my 3 weeks in) and then I will have to seriously nuckle down!! Have started the Joy Exton dog walking school - take 2 dogs out in the morning and in the early evening and the person was so impressed with me that I got a pay rise after about 3 days and she knows of more people that want my help!! Even though it was cloudy yesterday, ... read more

We flew to Venice on Saturday and as soon as we stepped of the plane we couldn't believe how warm in was!! It was great. We hopped on the bus to our campgrond that we were staying at and when we got there we were pleasantly surprised. It wasn't just a small campground, it had everything. A pool, resaurant, bar, grocery store, gym, internet cafe and we weren't actually camping, we were staying in a small trailer like room that had 2 beds and a full bathroom. We just wandered around the campground that evening, since it was late when we got there and we were quite far outside of Venice. Sunday morning it was up early and we caught the bus to the ferry port where we walked around for over and hour because ... read more

May 16, 2007 Mykonos… the world famous, cosmopolitan Greek Island that is also the location of where the hit movie from the 80’s, “Shirley Valentine” was filmed. The ship arrived at around 7:30am and after a nice leisurely breakfast we caught a shuttle and went into the nice little town of Hora. No tours were going to bog us down today, as we left the day open. For a short while we just walked along the harbour, where we saw many cafés and restaurants. As we walked around a corner near where the smaller boats were docked, we saw 3 very plump contented pelicans resting on a cement wall. A few tourists were gathered by them to take photographs. We did the same. I could not get over their size! After a little more walking ... read more

I woke up at 6:15am, looked out the window to see the cliffs of Santorini. The sun had not yet come over the cliff and I was so thrilled and overwhelmed by the beauty of this place, it gave me a tear or two. Fortunately we had no tour today which meant that we would not be ruled be schedules and could leisurely enjoy our day… or so we thought. As we were in a port that did not have docks, we would be tendered to shore. The first tender came at 7:30am, a little earlier than was planned. We also noticed that we would not be alone on this day trip. Both the Holland American Veendam and Westerdam were sharing the port with us, which turned out to be a bit of a problem. ... read more

Our first ferry trip in Greece!! We were so excited to take the Greek version of Bart to the port, but of course they were on strike - just our luck so we had to take a taxi... and traffic was ridiculous because of the strike so it took forever to get there. Lambrose our driver was super nice, he helped us map out our island hopping excursions. At the port we had our first Gyro's!! and free beer!!! It was so friggin hot! 31 degrees which is over 90!!! Hot hot hot. The ferry was super nice - we got suckered into upgrading to the "airplane seats" that reclined in the ac section of the boat where they showed movies in english!! We figured out later that no one checks your tickets and you ... read more

Landed back in Rodos this morning at 11am off the Catemaran, was up at 6am this morning and saw the sun rise over Turkey!! (and once my friend gets my camera software loaded to their computer I'll share some of the pics I took whilst over in Kos) Weather has now hotted up - over 30' most days! Had a great few days in Kos, it felt like a holiday - we were doing all the touristy stuff!! I learnt more history in 3 days there than I did all my time at school!! Had a couple of afternoons lounging by the pool as well which was great - tan coming on nicely!! Don't think I'm going to do the job I was planning on, hopefully getting lined up to walk someone's dogs a few times ... read more

We set sail, well ferry, across from Turkey to Greece to Samos. So close to Turkey that you can almost swim across at some points and the Greeks have guns lining the shores to keep the Turks away. Those Greeks still love the Turks!! On the ferry we ran into people we had met in Instabul who were travelling from Oz for a year, who became our travelling companions for our time in the Greek Islands. After arriving in Samos we were greeted by an Aussie fella who helped us out with a place to stay, close to the beach. Nice !!(which is to be said like Borat!) It was now time to spend more time relaxing on the beach and enjoying the great weather. We, well Dave, tried his hand at driving a European ... read more

Happy Mothers day to all the mothers out there, and especially ours! Miss you both. Hello to everyone else! Santorini... ah.... we don't want to leave here. So, since we last updated we have had nearly 3 days here. We did many things. The first full day we were here we decided to go to the Hot Springs and Volcano tour on a big boat. It was super windy and the boat was a rocky ride. Kim was not doing so good. I felt super sick and rested on Dennis for most of the trip until it smoothed out a bit. The volcano was... unremarkable? For an active volcano, it sure didn't looked active. We saw some steam.... yep... woo woo... that was about it! Haha, we were just expecting maybe a crater or SOMETHING ... read more
