The morning of August 9th we left Dieppe with light winds and a cloudy sky headed to Boulogne. Later in the morning and early afternoon the winds picked up and the seas got rougher. The water is shallow along this coast and as a result the wind creates short, choppy seas. With this combination the seas get uncomfortable, but not enough to be any kind of problem for us. As we got closer to Boulogne the winds piped up to about 22 knots and the ... read more

And here I am at my fourth and last host families house already! this year sure does fly by so quickly!!! The day my parents left from France was the day I switched host families and what a great idea because I think its harder to say goodbye to parents the second time! and so I'm living with two parents who work in the catholic church, 3 host sisters, two who work outside of town and only come a few times per week, and one 17 year old sister, who is awesome! Also I have a host brother who goes to school in another town and one who was in Venezuela for a few years who just came back. So it has been such a change from all my host families and i'm so happy to ... read more

Well my parents came to FRANCE for 2 weeks!!!!! this time was filled with emotions.. HAPPY!!! sooo much happiness. I met my parents at the airport and I could not even control myself i ran right into the airport and saw them and ran passed the bars that no one is allowed to go through and hugged my REAL parents. Its weird how much you don't realize you missed someone until you actually see them! So the first day my parents of course were super tired but they made it, ... read more

Hey everyone… as always I have been only the busiest person on the planet! Where do I even begin? Well, for starters I swam in the English channel, Easter morning..And just for the record it was freezing! But totally worth it. Next day I started my Euro Trip! First day Paris! About 60 exchange students met up in one of the train stations in Paris and took all of our HUGE suitcases down like 9 sets of stairs and ended up breaking suitcases before we even could get started..just imagine walking down the street in Paris and seeing about 30 kids in a line trying to run through traffic with their suitcases, I’m sure it was a site to see =0 So we make it to the bus and realize just how much fun this trip ... read more

So here in France I had vacation for about two weeks, actually right now is my 2ndweek of vacation and I got to do soo many amazing things! Don't worry I have soooo many pictures, in fact my memory card couldnt hold all of them! The start of my vacation is when I switched back with my first host family, we went to see the caps, which are like cliffs over the ocean and it was just beautiful! It's so amazing how you can look in one direction and see country landscapes and turn your head and see out forever into deep blue water. This past weekend I went to Paris (from Friday night to Monday) sooo great! We did so many things its very hard to remember all of them. The first day we actually ... read more

Living with Cindy! Everything is soo much fun! It's crazy how fast the time goes though... I've been doing lots of things and it's always things that I would be doing with my friends back home and i'm just so glad to have a really good French friend. I enjoy having someone to not now how to decide what to color to chose from within the huge pile of nail polish, or someone to make "American" cookies for, or someone to be totally freaked out by the "Sea monkeys" (that are literally a growing piece of the U.S! haha) or someone to have parties with, or someone to show me truly what the French teenage life is all about. I really enjoy my new host mom as well, she is super nice! and how could I ... read more
