Edit Blog Post
hey everyone..i could have promised i wrote a HUGE blog entree about when my parents came! I spend soo long on it even while my parents were here so i don't know what happened to it but i will try my best to fill everyone in..
Well my parents came to FRANCE for 2 weeks!!!!! this time was filled with emotions.. HAPPY!!! sooo much happiness. I met my parents at the airport and I could not even control myself i ran right into the airport and saw them and ran passed the bars that no one is allowed to go through and hugged my REAL parents. Its weird how much you don't realize you missed someone until you actually see them! So the first day my parents of course were super tired but they made it, even my mother who is terrified of planes..and so we walked around Belgium for a while and my parents then realized that in France when they say "a little ways" it really means bring your hiking boots hahaha. So we walked for a while and they ate their first baguettes and we then got in the car to go to "my home" as soon
as we got there they were so amazed at how even though they saw all the pictures it still is so much more than they expected. They really loved the houses and how little everything was..and so impressed that when people moved they do not put their furniture through the door they put it through a window!! doors are too small here apparently. So I already had a full planned out schedule for my parents.. we first off went into the south of France for a few days and visited Mont St. Micheal which is like a little island off of France and also near that was a war museum from WW2 and it was really interesting for my dad because my grandfather was in that war and just happened to have been exactly where we were standing! its funny how things happen like that, who would of thought we would ever even be in France? so we spent the day at the museum and also got the cutest little cottage to stay in and I just showed my parents what ice cream tastes like in France and we went to some beaches and things like that. One day we went
to PARIS!!!!! I really didn't think my parents would be too too fond of a big city like Paris but they really enjoyed it I think...we were just the three of us me, my mom, and my dad. I was their "little tour guide" and showed them all around everywhere and how to take the metro (were my parents ever impressed even I could figure that confusing thing out!) we stayed at a pretty nice hotel where my mom finally admitted she was tired and so one night just me and my daddy went to see the Eiffel tower. There are just some times and places in life you will never ever loose from your memory, and that time and moment was one of them. During the day my parents and I took one of the red bus' and I thought it was so funny because we were being such tourists most times when I go to Paris I'm with people who know Paris by heart so we would never need to take a huge red bus! ha ha but it turned out to be so great because we got to see all the big monuments in Paris, well lets
make that 3 or 4 times to be exact, plus it was good not to make my parents walk all over the place. And so of course guess where my dad and I begged my mother to go...UP in the Eiffel tower! "it's not that high up!" haha she actually went! I never ever thought in a million years we could get her to do that but we were so proud she actually did it!!! we all got to the top and took some funny pictures I will never forget "my dad smiling because he got my mom to go up, my mom looking scared to death, and me smiling because I have never gone all the way up and I was with my REAL parents! After Paris we went to England to visit one of my dad's friends from his childhood and it was so nice getting that all set up and everything working so that they could visit each other, once again who would have thought my dad would be in England!! there were certain things I was waiting for my parents to come in order to do like go to England, and that way it was my
first time too. Well, we ended up going to the most confusing metro station or train station in the whole wide world and it made me say " I really do appreciate how efficient France is with the trains and such" it was really frustrating not knowing how to use the train system in a country where we speak the same language!!! But all worked out and we spend a few nice days with my dad's friends and we ended up going to the motorbike races..boy was that the highlight of my dad's time he loved it and it was so nice to see my dad and his friend telling stories of the past..i think I know where my crazy side comes from now haha. And after England we just did a little visit of my town in France, and I think for my mom that was her favorite place because there is the Sea, the new town, and the very old town. We even got to go see the sea and it was just so nice having my parents to see what I have been living around for a year, my mom even said "Now I see why it
would be so hard to have to come home!" ha and so we just spent so much time all over the place and we also spent a while having my real parents meet my host families and it was so wonderful, they all got along so well and it is like they were good old friends, it's was amazing how much fun they all had together even though all of them are so different, I mean my dad even got to drive my host moms car in FRANCE!!!! well saying goodbye the 2nd time I think was even harder for me because it was like now I know what it feels like without my family for a year and I actually appreciate them so much more now and it was just so weird having to leave them again! but we made it and I will be seeing them in a few weeks!!! so there you have it the time with my parents =00 SOOOO MUCH FUN!
