Creepy crawlies
Love the sand sculptures, very similar to those on Weymouth beach, but probably larger & more of them. They look like something off a Disney film title. Fancy being related to Nelson-does that mean we have to salute every time we see you now? Many happy returns for your birthdays, we will have a drink to celebrate (any excuse). Keep well & enjoying your adventures. x

Hi John & Chas - You will have to wait you are both too young to retire!
12th March 2011

Hi Sean - thanks for your comments and glad that you had such a wonderful time for your mum's 60th it was just a shame we could not be there but we have to battle the snakes and other nasties in Oz!!

Snake
You weren't joking about the snake, looks pretty scary & definitely dangerous!! Would rather have the sleepy looking koala bear, I too could sleep for huge amounts of time lying in the sun bring on retirement ...............

Hi John & Chaz
Thanks for your comment we are still heading the other way towards Melbourne but also trying to avoid the flooding in Victoria. Have not contacted Reece yet but hopefully will be able to get up to Brisbane at some point of our journey. P&SX

Hi Graeme - Eco Adventures
Thanks for your comments and glad you are enjoying our blog. We did have a super time at Rob Roy Glacier and particularly enjoyed our day with you. Have not found any Glaciers in Oz yet but still looking!! We are still avoiding the bad weather areas in Oz. Have heard that NZ is having similar problems so hope all is well with you - Paul & Sheila (Eden, NSW)

Queensland
Sorry to hear you couldn't make it, I know you were looking forward to that part of the trip. John heard from Reece to say it wasn't the sharks swimming in the floodwater in the streets that was a problem - it was the midges! There is not enough money in the world to get me in that Skyway!!!! It looks very scary! Enjoy your next adventure x

Hi from Wanaka
Enjoying your blog, glad you have had such a great time in the South Island. We have certainly had a mixed bag of weather since you left NZ (we had such a great day up at Rob Roy Glacier) but it sounds like the weather is a little too exciting in Australia at the moment!!!!!! - Graeme (Eco Wanaka Adventures)

Flooding and this and that
Happy new year to you both. Still green with envy with where you are and the lovely weather. Just think you could have 2 summers when you come back here in July! The dolphins are gorgeous. Does the flooding in Queensland mean you'll have to change your Australia plans? It looks quite extensive on news reports and is said to cover an area the size of France and Germany. Massive. At least no-one seems to have been hurt. We have all suffered deadly colds (not flu) so post xmas/new year was rather quiet. Especially since a 23 year old friend of Jo's died on 29th from probable flu complications. My PC also caught a deadly virus and I've lost many email addresses including your BT one. Also your blogs which I'd saved in a separate folder. So please send me your address again. Have fun. Love and best wishes Tim and Jacky

Dolphins
How wonderful to see the dolphins like that-am very jealous-such great pictures. Good bit of fishing Paul, will that be your new hobby when you get back "home". Thought you might have applied for the job of skinning possums etc at the centre Sheila, you have turned into an Amazonian warrior scaling high bridges, walking across ice floes etc (never mind the making love part-everyone can plead tiredness at some point)!
29th December 2010

You are turning into Indiana Jones with your adventures. Having conquered your fears regarding heights you are clearly out to accept any challenge nature or need throw at you! Am very impressed that you went in the helicopter-not something I would be comfortable with!! Keep sampling the alcohol! Either you will get to feel it's right up your street or you will rid them of their problem & then you can teach them the "British" way to make it!! Standards have to be kept up! Take care & keep it coming x

Merry Christmas
Just sending you our best wishes for a Happy Christmas in Christchurch. Really enjoying the blogs, and you must be having a wonderful time, mind you I'd be with Sheila on the helicopter - stomach churning, and eyes shut, but it sounds too amazing to miss! Weren't you lucky that day to get a flight? The photos are really good, and I also thought on the last lot that Paul is a Bill Oddie lookalike! Dave hasn't managed to get to any more Norwich matches due to weather/ health. Jo and Andy should be here Christmas afternoon, but it's looking doubtful. Have a lovely time. Love Sheila and Dave. xxxxx

Wow!!
You must have run out of superlatives to describe your travels - I think we are a little drunk by it all (literally - as we are opening a bottle or 2 every time we hear from you! You have done so much & achieved so much, does it feel like you have worked all your lives to get to just this point? To say it sounds amazing or brilliant is obviously understating our response to your blog, but can't think of any other way to comment. Just enjoy it all & soak it up, at least you are not in snow-laden England!! Lots of love to you both xx

Happy Christmas
Hi Guys Your blog makes interesting reading and your pictures are really lovely. I expect you have heard we have been enjoying some very cold weather and lots of snow. They forecast it again for this week so winter woollens at the ready. Went to Chester last week-end to a carol concert and stayed overnight. The journey was pretty eventful as although the main roads were clear side roads were not. Still had a great time and the choir was lovely. Now in the run up to Christmas so everywhere is busy busy. Just wanted to say have a lovely Christmas whatever you do and enjoy. Take care of each other. Lots of Love Kit & Roger xxx

Swing Bridges
Well done Sheila I am really impressed you have been getting across these bridges, bet you are glad you did the one at Tintagel to get in some practice. Love the traffic jam picture, would make getting to work more interesting in Winchester if it was sheep blocking St Georges Street instead of delivery vans.
