Collared Sunbird on nest

Sunbird on nest
Hello there Paul and Sheila Williams. I am a founder member of BirdLife Lowveld In Nelspruit South Africa, and am the Production editor of our Club's newsletter, The Hornbill. I have copied and would l like to use your photo of a Collared Sunbird on a nest in our Issue No. 146 which is due soon. (Editor Leon Marais is away, returning tomorrow) and he will then need to see the first proof. Please will you engage with me on the above email or my personal one sweets25@soft.co.za. I look forward to hearing from you positively. Kindest regards and safe travels. Karen Bullen

School-house

Covered with flint
We saw a house in UK a few years ago that just like this school was covered with flint. To us that is unusual. I've only seen it myself once and now here in this picture. Nice to read your blogs. We really love UK, both the cities and its countryside. /Ake

Wildlife
Wow, this was such an educational read for me! I learnt so much about the wildlife and birdlife of North Norfolk, as well as its attractions - all very interesting! I loved reading about the Glass Eels in particular. And great photos to accompany and illustrate too! It seems like you had an amazing time in North Norfolk ?

Norfolk
A beautiful part of the country, and I'm glad to see you are travelling again. Hope you are able to fit more travels in. The weather looks amazing, but I can also feel the cold from the photos! I love the old Victorian school rules, "no dog-ears on books", lol!

Norfolk
Hi nice to see you up and about again have a great trip. Last time we were in Cromer we could not open the car door because of the strong wind. Sue’s cousin lived in Ashwellthorpe in the old rectory not far from Norwich and we stayed with them long time ago now. Keep safe and well catch up again soon hopefully cheers BB Ⓜ️

One more bird I like
We are not really interested in birds. But some birds we actually like. They are flamingos, hummingbirds, penguins and birds of pray. But now that I saw your photos of puffins I think we need to add them to the list as well. We made a short trip in Wales in 2005. That was prior to us joining Travelblog so there is nothing to read about that trip. We liked it and your blogs brought back some fond memories. I think I just might try to dig out those pictures one day, post them and write something. /Ake

Grey Squirrel

Oh so cute
I liked the history of how they rescued sailors using rockets. I would have liked to know more about that. I've never heard anything like like that before. By the way, this squirrel is absolutely adorable. /Ake

Grey Squirrel

History of Rockets
Hi Ake - Rocket Houses became a vital part of seafaring rescues. A rocket with a line attached was fired from the shore to stranded sailors and passengers on ships that had run aground. The shipwrecked mariners would then be brought safely to shore in a breeches buoy life ring. Between 1856 and 1909 some 173,528 lives were saved from shipwrecks off the UK coast – 17,446 using rocket fired lines. Yes the Squirrel is super cute ....
