Grand Tetons Reflections

Amazing journey!
How fabulous that you had a still, clear day for this amazing shot of the Tetons! Lucky you, too, that Jessica and Roy took you in and spoiled you as they had other homeless creatures. I love that you've seen so many birds and animals, have a camera strong enough to capture them and are spending your three months really getting to know a corner of the country rather than whipping through everything quickly. I too look forward to Bryce and Zion (hope you get to hike the Narrows there).

national parks
We too loved Grand Teton but now you are headed to my all time favourite...Bryce.

Bryce National Park
.......will be posted soon - it certainly had the 'wow' factor

Bison in the carpark, and a bear!
Bison in the carpark, must have been awe inspiring, although it would have scared me witless. You finally got that bear sighting too! The weather sounds truly dreadful. On my last visit (mid July 2011) the temperature hovered around 18.5 C and people wore shorts. Hope it improved heading south again. One note on the campgrounds: four of them (at least) have reserveable sites, which tend to get taken a year in advance.

Travelling always depends on the unreliable weather....but such good fun
Thanks for you comments and tips - Regards Paul and Sheila

Lovely scenery
Lovely scenery. We were for a while thinking about adding Yellowstone to our itinerary for our trip this summer but never got there. After seeing your pictures I am more determined than ever to make sure to go there in the future. /Ake

Yellowstone
Yellowstone is always an amazing place to go. The nature comes to you. We love the wildlife. Usually a few animals in town at the post office. Glad you are enjoying the hiking and serenity.

Our first grizzly

Bears and bison and elk--wow!
This grizzly is amazing, and being surrounded by bison, incredible. Love the waterfalls, the hot springs and the turquoise geysers. How wise to spend so much time in this fabulous park. And I love the Tetons, so I'm looking forward to your further adventures--hopefully with less summer snow!

Morning Glory

Stunning photos!
I'm with you and your grandmother--this Morning Glory is my favorite! Your new camera lens is a winner--those bluebird photos are exquisite--something I could never get with my little cameras. Also, how amazing that there was snow on the ground in July--what a magical place!

LOVELY PICTURES
I would like to know how you did the drive. Is there a marked route inside the park? Or you just drove freely? I think I am going there sometime in the future with a friend of mine who lives in Oregon. Thank you for your help. Hugs from Argentina.

Yellowstone
When you enter the park they supply a park leaflet as they do in all the NP that we visited. This enable us to plan the route quite easily travelling around the various basins and lookouts points - such an easy place to drive around and quite staggering - enjoy enjoy when you get there, remember though it is quite big and allow plenty of time.

Great spot right in the 'heart' of Cody....

Cowboys
I guess even those of us who have not travelled far feel we have "visited" as so much of the scenery you have in your pictures is familiar one way or another. Such an interesting blog regarding the carving - wonder if it will be finished before the Sagrada Familia. We are basking in a long & perfect summer here, it's been wonderful & not set to change much either, not a drop of rain has fallen for some time! So glad I retired when I did!!!
28th July 2014

Hi you two
I think they are trying to finish the Sagrada Familia by 2026 - we have not seen it yet but hope to when we start travelling 'nearer home' ... ... ..I do not think Crazy Horse will be completed by then though!

I would like to visit those places. It will be on my next trip to the USA. Butch lived in Argentina, did you know??? I visited the hotel where he stayed some time in Chubut, in our Patagonia. Hugs from Argentina.
