Lucky dodging! What a scare that must have been for the both of you! So glad you got through it ok, and that you've got such great support. Take care! xx
Dodging the bullet Hey guys, take care so that we can see more of your adventures in the future. Getting ill like this is scary as we found when Rob suffered a cardiac event at mid night at Lake Towerrenning WA. So glad that WA medics all took such great care of us both including one Ambo driving our motorhome to the hospital to save Marg the stress.
We are thinking of you both and wish a speedy recovery to you.
Cheers, Marg and Rob
That's the Andy we all know and love ..... Andy - you scared hell out of us the other night when you phoned to tell us what had happened. We just couldn't take it in for awhile but, thank heavens you are all right. Caroline - felt much better after talking to you the following night when you were able to fill in some of the blanks about Andy's condition that our stunned reaction of the night before had prevented me from asking. As with everything you do and face in life, you do it with a calm determination and positive outlook and this will be no different. Your happy disposition, enthusiasm, zest for life and living was one of the first things we noticed about the two of you when we first met in the Warrumbungles years ago. Not making light of what has occurred, sometimes a sense of humour is also what gets you through the tough times and, you have bucket-loads of that. :) Anyway, mate, just get better - we aren't ready for you to pop your clogs just yet. Too many more adventures to be had. All of our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery. J, T & Co. xxx
So pleased you're still smiling... Just wanted to say we're SO pleased you're ok Andy and reading this blog we cannot begin to understand Caroline's calmness in the face of it all, but agree she is an amazing lady, you're one lucky man and you have an un-breakable and very special bond that has only been built on more since you decided to desert us all in the UK to go on this epic adventure! It's great to hear your humour about it all and have no doubt it's your best way of handling it so long may that continue as it's integral to 'our Andy'!! Take care, rest up and here's to a speedy recovery so you can get blogging about road trips and exciting adventures outback again! Lots of love xxx
Wow Thank you for your wonderful comments, about my comments!! And here I thought I might be bothering you way too much. I will try my level best to keep in touch, both here and on FB. I got bit again!! Nor sure what it was, but it put me down for the count. Arm swollen from fingers to above the elbow. Sore and itchy. But getting better.
So great that you have been able to stay in one place for 5 months. What a wonderful house sit for you
You know it will be COLD if/when you get to the Iditarod?? Bundle up.
Take care and keep the blogs coming. You weekend adventures are truly great.
Awake at silly o'clock Gotta love my ipad. What else do you do at silly o'clock.,so with time on my hands I have just read your blogs for this year.! Looking forward to a real chat soon, maybe a Skype?
Blogs I hate to tell you the stats for our 3 month journey in 2008, because they pale in comparison to yours. 28 entries, 12356 words, 414 photos, 3076 views, (including 57 last month and 17 this month, not bad for a 6 year old blog). Your blogs are so much more informative. Sounds like a major trip is coming up.
Can't remember Hi Gary and Linda, thank god you sent us a message, we fell very isolated when you don't message us, we honestly use you guys as a barometer on our blog.
Hey you had a blog, small yes but perfectly formed, ours ( we created a monster) I guess that became uncontrolable, we have had a bit of a sabatical as we both just sort of ran out of things to say, when we aren't travelling nobobody wants to know about our daily mundane life and I don' to blame them.
We have been in a 5 month house sit and have just knuckled down the the work thing, with a little bit of adventure on the side, which has given us time to gather some blogs together and now is the time to publish.
I SUPPOSE WHAT I WOULD LIKE IS TO BE FIRST TO A 1000 blogs and 10,000!pictures published as I would guess we were first to get to a million words.
Honestly without people like you and a few others we would have given up a long time ago, it's because of you we honestly keep going, we just love the interaction and comments.
I was saddened to hear you had been stung by a bee and felt crap, take it easy buddy.
I can see Kangaroojack coming over to Canada as I really want to see some of the Iditarod, it's always been on my bucket list and I follow the race, wow now that would be a great adventure or go back and canoe the Bowron lake circuit.
More comments please, our love to you guys.
Andy
Welcome back! Hi guys, Hooray!! You're back! Have really missed your blogs and have been concerned that you had lost your mojo. :) Must arrange a Skype session now we are back in Oz again and not continually on the move ..... missing our chats :) Great to see you back in the saddle again and thanks too for your emails whilst we were away. All fine this end and pretty much back into the normal day-to-day again. Lots of love from all of us on this side of the continent. J & T alias SkiSet xoxoxo
Good to see you back! Although I don't read every word as time is always at a premium, I'm pretty good at speed reading :-). I have missed your adventures & especially like the photos. Get out there, have some fun, then share with those of us stuck here in boring Blighty. xx

The Sabbatical has ended About time - look forward to reading more and seeing more pictures. At least I then know that someone is having a more exciting life that I am.

Lack of blog entries I think we all understand that work interferes with everything, even writing blogs.
I, for one, will still read your blogs, and follow you on FB. I live in Australia thru you folks!
You are missed! Well, it's been quite a while since your last posting. Are you no longer traveling? I have enjoyed the tales of your adventures for some years and find I am wondering if you are well, have hung it up on travel or just plain too busy.
Australians embrace their eglatarian life style We love the out door easy flow life relaxed style of living embracing the who you are not what you are. Fellow Aussies though were somewhat jealous of the fabulous Away Away Australia Day at Northcliffe where beach and forest 4wheel driving made a day filled with memories and building friendships. Then the big Australia day itself with of course cricket, boomerangs and then boules to test skills, add to this bush poetry and Australian songs.... great fu, great memories, great photos.
Back in the November of 2008, we embarked on an adventure that would take us out of everything that we were so familiar with, a comfortable life in the UK, friends, family and the English countryside. Some call it brave, others thought that we would be back, but above all, most people helped us embrace the challenge that lay ahead of us.
Weary of corporate life, we emigrated to Australia, with the notion of buying a 4 wheel drive and camper trailer and a 12 month trip to explore our adopted country, Not an easy thing to do as we had to start from scratch, simple things like knife, fork, s... full info
