Going ... going ... gone!! (almost)
You two certainly take some keeping up with! We never know what you will get up to next. Oh dear!! the end of an era, huh!? So, what happens now - now that you are soon to be homeless? Another project looming on the horizon for Louie perhaps? :) Love to both. J & T xxx

Noble Falls is so pretty
Its a shame about the camping. Unfortunately there have been a few horrific fatal traffic crashes around the pub/falls turn off, i wonder if this has something to do with it. Enjoyed your blog.

Hi, Andy and Caroline. In response to your question about me, I live in South Carolina (US) and love travel. Australia is at the top of my list of places I have not yet visited, but that trip won't happen in the foreseeable future as I am currently committed to another trip to Europe and several locations in this country. What I love about your blog is that I get to see parts of Australia that I would never get to see even if I make it there. I am not a camper at heart, unfortunately.

Hey Guys, Great update to 2010. I almost burnt my dinner because I had become so engrossed in watching your travelogue. :) Great job, the pair of you. Shame about the soundtrack but, lots of great photos on there. Took me on a trip down memory lane of places visited over the years and of our 5-month trip to the West back in 2008. Well done!! Luv, J xx (Ted's in Tassie playing ping pong in the Australian Vet's all of this week so, we are both having a holiday :) .... only kidding - about the holiday part anyway!) :) Love you guys. xxx

Camp Cooking
OUCH!! I feel duly set right. Agreed that we have plenty of opportunity to do justice to camp cooking. However, I lack imagination!! Stick to the tried and true cooking I do at home; steaks, chops etc. And a great pancake with an egg embedded in it for brekkie!! However, we did try your curry (at home, with modifications) and did enjoy it. Even my cooking at home lacks imagination!! Linda hasn't been 'retired' for about 2 1/2 years as she purchased a shop in Blairmore. She is a knitting fanatic and owns A Nest of Needles Wool Shop. That's why I'm the cook!. Keep well and give Caroline back her voice!!

Camp cooking
Hi Gary, now don't be so hard on yourself, if as you say is lack of imagination, could that be construed as fear of failure. Bare with me here !! This is how I see it, that lack of imagination could be linked to a fear of failure, or sticking to tried and trusted meals, you never get a bad meal. I can assure you we have had plenty of tragedies, but you get to hone your skills, to me you have the perfect environment, start with simple stuff, a piece of lamb, a few potatoes, onions, peas and carrots all in the same pot, cooked on an open fire gently, that is when your nice fire has burnt down, get a couple of shovel gulls of coals and rest your camp oven on them and let the coals just cook your dinner, then bingo, with a small success you can move on to bigger things. Please be advised Grissly bears, don't make good curry Andy

Elachbutting Rock long Weekend

Western Brown
I once told some overseas exchange students not to tell too many folk back home how wonderful Oz was. Maybe if I had introduced them to this guy they would have taken notice. What a beauty!

What a Beauty
Hi David, thanks for your comment on our blog, we had an animal packed weekend, 3 Echidnas and two snakes, neither we have seen since last year. I was talking to a guy in our 4 wheel drive club who is 69 and he has never seen an Echidna in the wild. I have come to the conclusion that there are not enough Wombats in my life. Thanks David. It's so nice to be able to continue reading of your adventures again. I hope Andy's recovery is going well and that Caroline is taking good care of you both. Western Australia seems to have lots to offer!

Why the title.
Brimstone and Treacle?? So great to hear you are somewhat back on track with some travel. Google maps is such a great thing as I can follow your trip and they usually have great views of where you are. Like the Mukenbudin Hotel. Such great places in the middle of nowhere. You and your friends certainly do eat well on these trips. Makes our camping meals so mundane.

Brimstone and Treacle
Hi Gary, Thank you for your comment as always, they are just great, but you and I have to have a serious chat. Now we have experienced Canada about 5 times in our life and know its pretty similar to Australia, so why is your camp cooking mundane. Canadians are encouraged to use the great outdoors, and you have virtually a never ending supply of wood to burn, so lets just recap . 1. Your in a country that allows you to use the great outdoors 2. Endless supply of fuel 3. You can make fire, yep Matches Check. So what's wrong with this picture so far Gary, Mmmm!!! The last thing is food and something to cook it in, is it easy to buy a camp oven in Canada, (Wait) I have just been on to ebay.ca and you call them Dutch ovens or Chuckwagon ovens, so no problem there. Next, Grizzly Bear Curry, in the camp oven perfect. There is no excuse to eat poorly when out in the wilds, its just about preparation and planning, everyone we knock about with are not experienced survival experts or anything like that, we just like good food and there is nothing better than a camp fire cooked dinner Hope you are both well and thanks for reading the blogs Andy.
