The White Party should be known as the after-morning headache party. Today was definitely a very slow day as the group packed and headed out to the Ko Samui airport at 3PM. The good news is that this time we got a standard plane and not a propeller plane. I will say that the Ko Samui airport is one of the most unique airports as the shops combine to form an outdoor mall. (see pictures) We arrive in Hong Kong and the city is one of the grandest I have seen in a long time. Skyscrapers and bridges extend out to the farthest I can see. (see pictures) THANK GOD, there is not any unbearable levels of humidity. Southeast Asia is nice and all, but staying in the humidity sucks worse than the band My Chemical ... read more

Today, the group received some bad news as we were all ready to go on a island tour, but we couldn't get the tour as we were trying too book too late. Aside from tanning all day with the girls, some of us rented jet ski's and this is going to be my new toy very very soon. Unfortunately, I did not bring a camera onto the jet ski but I'll tell you this, I hit about 45 MPH and the waves weren't friendly. Each wave bounced this jet ski and my body is sore from just taking the impact. When I looked back towards the island, I was probably about 1.5 miles away and there I was floating on a jet ski in the middle of the ocean. I looked down and I had plenty ... read more

Today was the first day in our trip that the group didn't have any concrete plans. Some people decided to go scuba diving, but I decided to chill out with some others by the beach and explore the city. I met up with a few people to go to the beach and decided to be a piece of meat and attempt to get tanned. Before doing so, I walked south for about 2 miles on the shores and the island is just a giant paradise. There are vendors that sell beers, water, food, right on the beach. The waters are crystal clear and somewhat clean. I took some pictures (see pictures) and I'll definitely be submitting these photos to Corona, and ask them to use my photographs in their commercials. I need some reimbursements for this ... read more

Disappointed in the previous night, the boys woke up at 7:30AM to go explore the early morning of Bangkok. I think we were the first people NOT to wake up hungover in "The Hangover Suite". Irony at its finest. After chowing down, we hit the early streets of Bangkok and man, the place is so different from Bali, cars everywhere, shops bustling, and the smell of city was abundant. Since we only had about 5 hours before our flight to Ko Samui, we decided to maximize our time by taking the quickest mode of transportation. We took a boat. Not just any boat. (see picture) This boat was the Forrest Gump REJECT boat. Poorly constructed motor, loud and obnoxious, this looks like the gutted muscle car that everyone hates in the neighborhood. Paying only 33 dollars ... read more

Up at 7AM this morning as we had to get up and start packing for a flight to Bangkok, and upon arriving in Bangkok, it is a total different city. There are skyscrapers, large companies, and its somewhat pretty developed. We are staying at the Lebua Tower and the 6 of us are staying in "The Hangover II Suite" where all the cast photos and the famous scene is shot at. (see pictures) The view here is breathtaking as we are 53 stories up high and we have these amazing views. (see pictures). We have a personal kitchen, living room and 3 rooms for 6 people. *** In my next blog, I'll be posting my explorations and photos of the city because I could not explore as much as I wanted to as we got in ... read more

Asia » Indonesia » Bali » Ubud March 17th 2014

The group decided today to go somewhere not on the beach but towards the mountains and we came across an activity where we can bike 25 KM's which is around 14-16 miles through Ubud's rice paddy fields. We left the house around 10AM and unfortunately, traffic was so bad through the island that it took about 3 hours + lunch to get to the destination. I like to take a moment and point out why EVERY DAMN BUG in this country is huge. I saw centipedes 6 inches and now this. Look at the spider...it was about 7 inches in length and chilling there. (see picture) We pick up our tour guide which was in charge of the bike tour and we agree to give him a ride anyway to the destination. As we are driving ... read more

Asia » Indonesia » Bali » Nusa Lembongan March 17th 2014

Wake up was at 6:30AM as we all decided to go snorkeling and scuba diving We got picked up at 8AM and headed out, and guess what, I went to my first international McDonald's. YUP, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT EITHER! McDonald's here in Bali is actually a classy restaurant as this place was 2 stories tall for people to sit in and eat. At 8:30AM, the place was packed when we got to it. But they had some items on the menu that made me curious (see pictures) CHICKEN MUFFIN and CHICKEN MCMUFFIN...I don't even. We headed east towards Lembongan Island and had to take a 40 minute boat ride in this dingy boat to get to the other island. The water is crystal blue (see pictures) like you see in the travel brochures. These roads ... read more

Asia » Indonesia » Bali March 15th 2014

As I stepped off the plane at Denpasar Airport, I noticed it is absolutely humid with 55% and it was 90 degrees with chances of rain. We were all picked up by another friend and the first thing like in all Asian countries, people DO NOT obey traffic laws. There is constant honking and merging of lanes. For anyone that tells me ALL "INSERT STEREOTYPE" ARE BAD DRIVERS...come to Bali and tell me that. The city is very poor, dirt roads everywhere, stray dogs and cattle roam around the roads. People here acknowledge them, but no one bats an eye after these animals. (see pictures) On a side note, the bugs here are huge...size of half-dollars if you know what they are. After driving around for about 2 hours, we finally reached the villa here called ... read more

Asia » Taiwan » Taipei » CKS International Airport March 14th 2014

If there ever is a rocket that can get to a destination faster, you heard it hear first, I will gladly sign up for that test. I sat in the middle seat between my two friends and lets just say, the seats are only 16 - 17 inches wide...HAVE YOU SEEN MY APPETITE? On a 14 hour flight, I probably slept only 7 hours as it was a bumpy ride due to turbulence. The rest 7 hours was spent looking out the window wondering if the Lakers lost, why someone can buy 50 watermelons in math problems and no one questions them. We reached the Taiwan Airport at 6AM (TAIWAN TIME) and man...they have some legit stores here open AT 6AM IN THE MORNING! Who is shopping at these stores at 6AM!? Oh wait, Cartier didn't ... read more

"Ok, so that is 10 socks, 12 shirts, wait, did I pack this?" "What else do I need again?" "Oh, I need a camera, fanny pack, and...now I officially am an Asian tourist..." I am going to be an Asian tourist in an Asian country. Ha! The problem was I had scribbled down everything I needed for a 2.5 week trip that I couldn't read my own writing. Penmanship isn't my forte, and my mom would have been proud if I had been a doctor, I mean I have the writing down for a doctor at least. The weather in Bali is atrocious, scattered rain/thunderstorms with high humidity for the entire duration I am there...YUP! You read that right, the island where I am staying where is known for its beaches and resorts has a forecast ... read more
