Love blogs about past trips!
I keep saying I'm going to take on this project but so far it has been nothing more than talk. What a wonderful trip. Digitizing the photos is time consuming but well worth the effort. Your internship was a marvelous opportunity. We forget how easy the internet makes these travels. Love your lust for discovering our wonderful planet. Eager to read more.

a lot of work
Oh yes, it is a lot of work. But I hope I will find the time to post some more "old stuff" from time to time. It is great to "dive" into the memories of these time....

Discovery
....and the good thing is, these emotions come back every time we discover new places or things :-)....

No guide book, no map but big dreams
"The vastness, the colours, the tranquility and the pure beauty of this place made me cry - the travel bug did its job". Beautifully said. Many of us will relate to these words...many of us will relate to the exhileration and emotion of the euphoria of discovery.

In between trips one must...
blog past trips! Thanks for making the effort to digitize old pictures. I know what an effort that can be as I had to digitize 5000 of my Dad's and my slides and prints to complete my travel history since 1949. So keep up the good work.

No meat, no fish, no dairy, no alcohol?
Wow - that's brave. I wouldn't survive a week, let alone a year! Good luck to you though and I'm sure you'll feel the benefit. In any case, it's a great excuse (as if you needed one) to return to Kerala next year!

not easy...
oh yes, it is not easy at all (especially the part of the alcohol.... - I love red wine). But when I look back in a couple of years - 1 year is like nothing.... ;-). Drink one for me!

Thanks for the wonderful blog
Hii Madam, Thanks for the wonderful blog about our country and 100% agrees with your comments about our people. Really feeling so shame about the people who had done such bad things. But you must back again to us with your lovely smile we had always seen you. Wishing you both a happy life. See you soon Chirikudukka. Vinu

Thank you!
Hi Vinu, thank you so much for your message. I had tears of joy in my eyes reading it. You and your team made my stay at the Palm Beach Resort in Alappuzzha unforgettable and I hope I will come back soon. Give a big smile from me to everyone! Yours Chirikudukka :-)

Exotic treatments, palm trees and beaches
Sounds like you picked the perfect place to contemplate changes you may want to make in your life. I'm happy it was a positive experience for you. The changes sound drastic but only you know what you went through in 2012 and it sounds like you are motivated. I wish you well. Keep us posted.
10th February 2014

Thanks
It is true, the changes are drastic. But by feeling the progress it is easy to keep motivated. Still there are also bad days, but this treatment helped a lot, also mentally. Thank you for your kind words :-).

Tourist abound
Not what you were looking for but sounds like you had a great room.
3rd February 2014

That is true, the room was lovely and we had ourselves what is the most important thing anyway.

Oo...
Oo... Ooty - I'd heard it was worth missing! The toy train sounds fun though. Varkala next, eh? I enjoyed my stay there - it's a special place, a bit touristy, yet calm and good swimming. I remember drinking cappuccino and 'special tea' in the bars on the cliff, and eating freshly caught fish down by the beach. I look forward to reading your views about your stay there.

..worth missing
...yes, it is really worth missing ;-) - that is a nice way to describe it. But anyway, this is all part of the experience. And better try than always ask yourself what it would be like. Looking forward to the special tea!

NEXT TIME
I visited north of India, the Golden Triangle, plus Benares (Varanasi) and Khajuraho. It was a great experience. I will nee some time to think about going to the South. It will be in the future. India is fantastic.

Agree about the Lonely Planet
We find the LP information generally to be outdated. You're really experiencing the country and a variety of settings on this trip. You are going to a few places I've never heard of and appreciate being introduced to new areas. The rooftop retreat sounds lovely.

An omission I will have to remedy...
I've been to most parts of India over the years but somehow seem to have missed Mysore. It looks and sounds very interesting, so it's an omission I shall have to remedy sometime soon.
27th January 2014

Oh yes
...you definitely should. But we think you can come to India many, many times and always find something extraordinary and new wherever you go. See u soon in India - I am sure we will also come back ;-)

Mysore Palace on Sunday nights

Such variety!
From your pretty bad start to the last two heavenly places to this surprisingly pleasant city, you two have had such amazingly different experiences so far. How great that your hosts have pointed you to wonderful places to stay in your new destinations. Hope your good luck continues!

Aamzing variety
Oh yes, the variety is simply amazing here in India. Some more stories to come very soon. With the accomodation we keep it as always: if we like a place just talk to the people. They nearly always no other nice places that are not mentioned in LP. Then, a short doublecheck in tripadvisor and here we go :-).
