Only 10 sleeps to go! Yes its that time again... Reet is finally off traveling again, this time with her crazy friend Rinna in tow! 6 amazing weeks of sun, sand, awesome food, adventure, mishaps, squat toilets, dangerous thai buses, creepy crawlies and most importantly CHEAP BEER! Mmmmmmm beer! How much trouble can 2 girls get into in a foreign land.... well for anyone who followed my last adventure you will know mishaps followed me everywhere ... from freak storms out at sea trapped in a tiny boat in 5 meter waves to crazy death rides in buses to snakes dropping out of the roof right near my head.... I am pretty sure you can expect the same again, although probably even more so... that's what happens when you travel with a crazy country girl ... read more

Hello, On Saturday 17th March, 20 TripAdvisor members met at a local thai restaurant 'Chuy's Thai' in North Adelaide for a get-together. Many of us have been chatting for months in the Thailand forums of Trip Advisor and decided it was time to meet up and share some thai food! There were a few people that have been to Thailand (some many times over) and lots of new people about to embark on their holidays in the next couple of months. Seven of us met at the Glenelg Tram Stop and caught the tram to the city, dividing into a couple of taxis for the short ride, while others came from all directions. The weather was so hot hitting 41.9 degrees during the day so we were all hot and sweaty by the time we got ... read more

Hello everyone, This is my last blog before I head home.... first of all a HUGE thankyou for all your support, comments and messages over the past 6 weeks. Everyone has been really lovely and its been nice to have some contact from home and everywhere else! What a holiday it has been! We have spent the past few days in Bangkok finishing up the shopping and showing Heath some of the sights that I had seen (and not seen) on my first time round. Day 1 - Shopping Shopping & MORE Shopping We arrived into Bangkok around 10am and caught a taxi from the 'meter taxi' stand at the airport. I havent had any problems every other time we have done this although this time the taxi driver decided to take us the looooong way ... read more

Hello again, What can I say about Phnom Penh?! It was an eye-opener like I could never have imagined... One of my first comments when I arrived back into Bangkok this morning was "I cant believe how clean Bangkok is" - for those who know Bangkok that is a pretty big statement but Phnom Penh was filthy beyond your imagination. As you already know we arrived in Phnom Penh around 2pm and went straight to the guesthouse. The Billabong guesthouse is run by another Aussie and the place was great value. We had some lunch there (Chicken Bacon Cheese Burgers - which rocked!) and spent the afternoon by the pool. We needed some relaxation! Around 6pm I took off to find an internet cafe.... It was my first experience in Phnom Penh and at 6pm at ... read more

Hello everyone, Sorry it has taken me so long for an update but the computers were crap in Cambodia for downloading photos so I decided to wait until we arrived in Bangkok... I just hope I dont forget anything now! Its been a whirlwind 5 days in Cambodia and I will do the blog in two parts.... Only 3 more sleeps until we come home - I cant believe it has gone that fast! Wow! There are 3 pages of photos with this blog... I apologise in advance but I tried to cull it down and this was the best I could do! When I started this blog in Siem Reap This is what I had to say (although now my feelings are somewhat mixed) : "What can I say!? If you ever want to experience ... read more

Hello everyone, This is just a real quick blog to say that we have arrived safe and sound in Cambodia - Siem Reap to be more specific... we are uncontactable via the phone so I thought I would just drop a quick blog for those concerned (MUM!) so they know that we werent kidnapped by any Khmer Rouge or Beggars! We got off to a late start this morning thanks to my blonde hair! We were meant to get up by 5am to get the 6am bus but when setting the alarm Reety put in 5.45am instead of 4.45am! doh! We got the 7am bus however so all was not lost and we appeared to make it to the border well ahead of any of the scam buses.... The bus trip was long (although we are ... read more

Hello everyone, Well we have just arrived in Bangkok after ANOTHER bus ride from hell.... this time we were literally airborne going over a small bridge and we were screaming down the small streets of Bangkok at god knows what speed! You really have to experience it to believe it! Its a very surreal experience.... before I start on my update on Kanchanaburi, just a quick question answered... Lee, the flies are not as bad as Oz... in fact we were very surprised to see the flies on the scrambled egg... perhaps Lanta Long Beach breeds them especially for breakfast.... It was certainly the most I have seen in the whole trip and they were all stuck to cold scrambled eggs.... yummmmm! This blog will probably be a little rushed but we leave tomorrow morning for ... read more

Hello again! So we have left Ko Lanta and travelled for 12 hours today to find ourselves in Kanchanaburi, 150 kms east of Bangkok - home to The River Kwai, Hellfire Pass and The Tiger Temple. We have 2 nights / 2 days here before heading off for Cambodia so I thought I would give a rundown on our time in Lanta. The good and the NOT so good!! Originally this blog was titled Ko Lanta - From the Pits of Hell to a Slice of Paradise (and you will soon work out why!) however I found a better title! Hehehe! However lets start where I left off with one of the previous blogs and we had just gotten off the ferry from hell and were on our way to the perfect resort where nothing could ... read more
