See I told you another blog was just around the corner! The last one took 2 hours to do though so I am going to have to try be a bit quicker this time.... I think Heath is asleep in the room or something as he hasnt yet come down to question what is taking me so long! :-) Hongs By Starlight On the 27th we were booked in to do the John Gray "Hongs by Starlight" Canoe trip in Phang-Nga Bay... We were told this was the most environmentally friendly and professional canoeing trip and while it was quite expensive compared to other trips it was worth absolutely every last baht! We were lucky enough to be booked in the same day as Carolynn and Tony and also Pat and Alison... When the minibus turned ... read more

Hello Everyone! Sorry it has been so long since my last update but I have struggled to find time to sit down and update... we have been so busy! Having fun of course!! I am going to do this blog in two parts as so much has happened and even two blogs will be long reading... so grab a coffee! Heath arrived on the 24th as you all know, I was getting quite worried as he - typically - was last off the plane and almost last through customs! I didnt know whether to kill him or cry... I seriously thought he was in an interrogation room somewhere! He, on the other hand, was pissed that I wasnt there waiting for him... not realising that he has to get his bag and get through customs.... Hehehe! ... read more

Hi Everyone, We have had a few quiet days before Trent left so there is not alot of exciting stuff to report on but I thought I would take the time to jump on, update the past few days and wish you all a big fat Merry Xmas! I have heard the girls are having Xmas drinks tonight at Bella's new pad so I am jealous as hell (really! even though I am having Xmas in an exotic location) as I am missing everyone and I have been lonely for the past 12 hours since Trent left me! :-( Heath arrives tonight though so I will not be lonely for long! Hello everyone, Sorry it has taken awhile for the next blog! We have been out of contact for a few days in Khao Sok National Park and only just arrived in Phuket yesterday afternoon. Internet is 150baht an hour at the resort... just cause we are staying in 5 star doesnt mean we can actually afford it! Haha! In Patong Beach at the moment to get some laundry done and try update the blog and have gotten sidetracked in thai 'secret rooms' buying illegal dvds! Shhhhh! More about our crazy shopping spree in the next blog! Where do I start?! I will probably forget lots but will add it all later when I think of it! Thailand Transport - its a scam! So after all my research I was certain we were NOT going to get ... read more

Hello everyone, Well we are at the end of our last day in paradise and what a day it has been! Before I go any further, let me tell you about the rest of our time (as there hasnt been much to tell!) We have literally spent the last few days relaxing pool and beach side! I have stopped having cocktails as they are 180 baht each and it was seriously eating into my budget! :-( We have eaten every meal at the resort as the food is beautiful (a little pricy, but with the cost of transport to town you wouldnt save any heading to town for a cheaper meal)... They have a bar with 2 pool tables so Trent has kicked my ass numerous times, although I have won twice!! Yesterday right before Trent ... read more

Hello everyone, We finally made it down south to Ko Pha Ngan! It took us 24 hours and consisted of the 4 methods of travel but it cost us less that $100 each and was so much fun! Goodbye Chiang Mai We were both sad to leave CM as we didnt spend half as much time as we would of liked... it seriously is a great place that could keep you busy for at least 2 weeks! We spent the last night shopping at the Night Bazaar, which was extra lively as they had the Mardi Gras - Opening of Tourist Season - happening on the night with concerts etc... we didnt last too long though as we overspent in the first hour... so it consisted of Maccas for the first time, a sh*tload of shopping ... read more

Hello! Today was spent at a thai cooking school called "A Lot of Thai" ... I highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Chiang Mai.... the couple that run it speak really great english, they are both really really nice and the recipes were amazing!!! Trent and I were joined by a girl we met at the Elephant Nature Park, Chantel from New Zealand... so it was just the three of us. Yui had a baby girl in November and is due to open the school back up on the 21st Dec however opened today for us especially since she knew how much I wanted to attend her school... I had heard heaps of good reviews on the internet and they were all correct! We were picked up by Yui's husband Kwan who drove us to ... read more

Hello everyone, Trying to squeeze in a few blogs before we hit south as we probably will not have access to the internet all the time down that way! Today was an interesting day... First thing this morning we set off on our Mountain Bike Tour (we picked what we thought was an easy one since I havent been on a bike for quite awhile)... And let me tell you... another lesson was learnt... never ever think that doing RPM classes at the gym qualifies you to ride a mountain bike in rough terrain, or even on tarmac for that matter! More on that later..... The drive out to the spot where we were to begin was eventful... we were driving along when a guy on a motorbike came up along side the driver and motioned ... read more

1. I 'suck' at bartering 2. I have 'rip me off' written on my forehead 3. Planning is impossible 4. Dont eat strawberries that have been floating in a bucket of water at Doi Suthep! 5. Food poisoning is inevitable, regardless of how careful you think you are being! 6. Look around before thinking you just HAVE to have that item! 7. The road to Doi Suthep is windy and long - take travel sickness tablets - that is what you bought them for! 8. Air conditioning is a good idea - even in Thailands cool season 9. Taxis, Tuk Tuks and 'Red Buses' are never going to charge you what they should 10. Do not feel guilty about screwing someone over when bartering. They probably just got away with ripping off an unsuspecting tourist named ... read more

Hello everyone, Yesterday we set off on an adventure to the Elephant Nature Park where we had the most amazing day. We were picked up around 8.30am and driven to a local markets where there were bags and bags and more bags of bananas & pineapples. There were 5 of us (Trent, me, 2 sisters from Syd and Melb and a Kiwi) and we all had to load the bags onto the two trucks.. I had pulled a muscle getting my backpack on the day before so it wasnt the most fun part of the day but someone had to do it! The ride took about 1 1/2 hours (to do 67 kms) but when we got there it was worth every bump!! What an amazing place. The centre was started by a lady called Lek ... read more
