I know where you are coming from! Shat,
I remember all those things you mentioned growing up and I know we are better people for having had to do them. Quentin asked to mow the lawn not long ago with the push mower, "Just to see what it was like." He actually liked it. Even though I've been to Africa and seen first hand the HUGE difference in our cultures it is still always an "eyeopener". Thanks for bringing it all back in perspective! Love you both and can't wait till you are both back in town!! Love Tonya
our heads... I'll have to show these pics to Emily - she thinks I should carry everything that she wants to bring along and just doesn't understand why I make her help carry HER things!! Love you, miss you! If you have time for our fave lunch place when you come in, call me! If not, I t-r-u-l-y understand! Your friend, Monica
I love you If you can't love missionaries then you can't love anybody. I am in awe of you and the work you are doing and I stand amazed at the beauty demonstrated in your words and deeds. God bless you. just ken
Hey girl, glad you made it through all those earthquakes!! I've never experienced that myself. I can definitely see where the picture of the belt proves it... I will second the motion from just ken and say we can't wait to see you in Hattiesburg again. Keep up the good work. Everything looks great there. Love ya, Val
Love your blogs!!! Shasta,
You are the greatest!!!! You have such a way with words. I can't help but smile and feel blessed to have such wonderful friends as you and Anthony. Love your home! I know you are finally happy to have a home to call your own. Looks like you have alot going on there! The work is continuing to progress well I can tell. Give Anthony a big bear hug for me. Love and miss you both.

Earthquake!! Hey Shasta,
Earthquakes must be in season. We had one in Tennessee. It measured 3.3. I did not feel it, but my neighbors did. It is still hot and dry here.Summer is in full swing. Our prayers are with Anthony and yourself always. May God Blessings be with you both.

Like a visit Loved seeing your porch and especially the two sweet people sitting on it. It is like having a visit reading your blog and I haven't seen you two in so long, or at least it seems forever, that the pictures of your faces almost makes me cry for not being able to hug you tight. Hope you are being careful on the roads and taking care of your good selves. I love you dearly and can't wait to see you drive up to our home in Hattiesburg on furlough. as you know me best, just ken
WE can say with ease , "We've seen the valleys". YOU HAVE SEEN THE MOUNTAIN and/or THE MOUNTAIN TOP. God seems to have a lesson in everything we experience. This is a thrilling non-fiction story. Thank you for sharing.
Pam
PS I can't wait to share these photos and story with Tom.
Dizzy?? Valerie, Well one of the reason's there aren't more pictures of us climbing as there are is simply for that reason ... you are standing at an angle to keep you from falling backward and when I would stop to try to take a picture I would have to hold on to something to keep from falling. It makes you feel very disoriented. But you'll never know unless you try!!!
great climb Shasta,Joshua,AB, that must have been out of this world so to speak, glad you had the energy to do that, hardly believeable...Love to all , Pa,
Girl, That sounds fun and terrifying all at the same time. I have terrible motion sickness. Wonder if I would be able to do it next time to come to Africa!!! If the ride getting there was as bad as you say, I might not even make it to the mountain............Go Girl, I'm proud of you. Valerie
My husband, Anthony, have returned from living in Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa. We moved there in October of 2006, and returned home in January of 2009. I miss it terribly! We are from Tennessee and have one son, Joshua. We were missionaries in Chimala, Tanzania from 1992 - 1995 and fell in love with the country as a whole. We came home, got some additional schooling, allowed Joshua to do all the things teenagers should do, graduate high school, and moved back to Africa. Have come home, Joshua is married. This journal is our ongoing story.
