precious Those pictures speak volumes. To think that American's take all the small things God has given us for granted, and in their country they can not wait for "what's next'. May God continue to bless you in your service to the Lord. Rhonda
Hey Shasta and Anthony, I am sitting here with my granddaughters looking at your pictures and being thankful for all the work you both do. In christian love, brenda

From one mom to another Hi Shasta,
I'm late in reading this blog, but I enjoyed it the same. First, why did Anthony keep you "such a secret" when I worked with him at Centerville Elementary? I suppose he wanted to enjoy the salsa, hand made quilts, and all the work you do (just for Joshua and Anthony) :). Now you're sharing and have the time to do these fabulous tasks. You are so talented. I admire your spunk.
I share in your happiness as Joshua recently turned age 20. I also share in some of the fond memories, as my baby, Katie, turned 20 in November. As you said, "where did the time go"? When did this happen? I must admit since God brought Katie to us 19 months after Mary Beth, and 8 years after Erin's birth, there were a few long nights 19 years ago that I won't forget. However, I could never imagine not having my children. I know you feel the same.
God continues to bless our family and allows me to be a part of it even with some of the medical issues.
Happy Belated Birthday to Joshua. I really enjoy the photos you share with us, as well. I'm happy you are following HIS path.
Love,
Pam Hughes
Glad the recipe worked... The salsa looks great! You did Good Miss Shasta! Tell Joshua we love him and Happy belated birthday for us the next time you talk to him. Love Julie
2008 Glad you all had a Merry Christmas! Love the pictures, its nice to put names with the faces of so many people I've heard about! Miss you! Your friend, Monica
Happy New Year The only thing I see wrong with those pictures is that I am not in them!! What a wonderful day you had to enjoy each other, have a great meal, and tremendous fellowship, AND Miss Shasta looks like she had that backyard sitting down to an art form!! We hope and pray that 2008 will bring to each of your lives, good health, peace, joy and all the love you need, you already have all of ours. We do love you all and hold you dear in our inside hearts and you know what, there is nothing you can do about it!!! Have a great year!!! With all love, just ken
Such a blessing the both of you are. Seeing you even after this
year away is just like being with you every day. Enjoyed it, and
keep you in our prayers always. Keep up the great work.
love Enjoyed so very much our time together, yes time is so mis-understood by all of us, that which has passed will never again be, time present is hardly ever used correctly, future we often wondered too much about.
glad you both are back to somewhat of a normal life, we enjoyed the times with you and look forward to seeing you again,
love pa
I enjoyed reading your thoughts, not one single person would mistake you for anything other than a grateful and thankful mother of a fine son. I loved the pictures of your sisters, I have never seen any of them and I wondered which one was the "check writer" Miss Tammy? Not hard to tell that you ar "kin"
Please be careful on the roads. Take good care of your good self. Look forward to seeing you in Tanzania in November. God bless you. jk (with sunglasses)
Thank you for this encouraging post. Hello again,
I enjoyed the exciting and encouraging update. I caught myself relating as you talked about your football player (Joshua), and your feelings as a mom. I enjoyed the rest of the e-mail, as well. You gave me much needed food for thought. I'm so proud of your family and respect what you do for others. Love you all!

My husband, Anthony, have returned from living in Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa. We moved there in October of 2006, and returned home in January of 2009. I miss it terribly! We are from Tennessee and have one son, Joshua. We were missionaries in Chimala, Tanzania from 1992 - 1995 and fell in love with the country as a whole. We came home, got some additional schooling, allowed Joshua to do all the things teenagers should do, graduate high school, and moved back to Africa. Have come home, Joshua is married. This journal is our ongoing story.
