April 15 So today I hit Busan. Dana dropped me off at the bus station and I took the short 1and 1/2 ride down. The first thing I did was go to the center of town to mail my guard application. Well see if it makes it home before I do or not. Haha then I walked around a little bit just to busans needle like tower. I opted not to go up though because it was pretty hazy and nasty out. I didn't think I'd see much. Then I headed to Hae-unde beach. When I was getting out of the subway a guy started talking to me and even gave me 10cents because I was short on coins when I got out. He was nice. He pointed me in the direction of the beach and ... read more

April 12 th Today we were going to go to Gyeongju the ancient city consider the museum with out walls but we had a long night last night and decided to sleep in and just get some errands done. We hit the Jukdo market one of the largest in Asia i think. I was massive we only scratched the surface of it. After that we hit the beach and met up with all the other foreign teachers. It was alot of fun and a good break from the norm, Asians and language barrier. We played hacky sack, football and frisbee. It was a ton of fun felt like a college get together on a beach. Once the sun set a number of us went out to eat another BBQ place this time we had pork and ... read more

April 5th Today was my last day in Taiwan. So Mark one of my couch surfing hosts and i went to an American Diner for breaky. It was pretty sweet. I had a bagel french toast and some eggs all were very good and hit the spot. However the ride to the diner was the scariest of all my motor rides so far. Who would have thought it would have been on the back with an American driving. His seat was broken so instead of it slanted towards him it was slanted back off. So every time we hit a bump or he accelerated I was sliding off the back. I was needless to say holding on for dear life. I thought i was going to go sailing off a few times but we made it ... read more

April 3 So today I headed out to hit a few beaches. First up was Fulobg beach. It want a great beach and it had a decent lil wave. There was a river mouth splitting the beach so the waves had some form to it and the wind was off shore. The water felt around 60ish though. I walked around here a bit then hopped back on the train and headed to Dasi beach. This was a tiny town not much there. The surf spot was about 1/2 k down the road in a lil cove area called honeymoon beach. The name is much nicer then what it actually is. No resorts or anything just a foundation from something. The beach itself was mostly black stone. That was the most interesting part it was black sand ... read more

March 30 So lucky I checked my flight last night because they changed it on about 8 hours early. Which I was a little bummed about because I didn't get to do the last few things I wanted to do but was good because I was getting into Taiwan earlier. The flight was fine. I found the bus to take me to Taipei main center. Then I called Talbot the couch surfer guy I'm staying with and he picked me up from the metro close to his house. He is a nice guy. American teaching English here in Taipei. When we got back to his place we took his dog molly a golden for a little walk. Then we grabbed some food chatted a bit and I passed out watching tv. March 31 Let's see today ... read more

March 25 I woke up super early to get to the airport but of course I was to early to check in. Thanks mom haha After much waiting we were off. It was only about a hour and half flight but they managed to feed us quickly. It was awesome, all my flights have had meals. Only crappy USA got skimpy with meals your lucky to get peanuts. Anyway when we landed it was raining out so that was a bit of a downer. I threw on my rain coat n walked around center of hong kong to try n find a camera shop to fix me camera. I thought for sure this would be my best bet. But no such luck. I must have stopped at 4 shops. So I gave up only to try ... read more

March 21 So I arrived to Lao Chai this morning and after the mayhem of getting a mini bus to Sapa(many drives different prices depending on your barging.) I was crowded by people leading me to their hotel. I checked a few out before I found a sweet cheap place and awesome view of the valley. When I was being lead to the hotel a local village woman began to follow us and talk to me a little. These local women are all over the place selling things. Anyway, I went in the hotel for at least 1/2 hr and when I came out she was there waiting. I think she wanted to lead/follow me to her village. But I didn't want to trek today, I just wanted to check out the town n the radio ... read more

March 15 So today we were off on the DMZ tour. We had an early 6am start where we hot a decent buffet breaky and then were off. Along the way we stopped at a few sites. One was rock piles an old US combat base. and some other bases. The first one was just a mountain that the used to land choppers on for supplies and i believe they used it for a look out spot as well. The other base we went to was pretty cool it had a small museum that the guide told us about the war which was good because i hadn't remembered much from history class. There were some old choppers, guns and bomb shelters there that were in pretty good shape. As well as some remains of shot down ... read more

March 12 Well Nam was right on time so right after i finished breaky we were on our way. First stop was marble mountains. Like everwhere else it was absolutely beautiful place. They had carved large budas in side caves in the mountain out of marble. Needless to say most the these caver were quite large and intricate as well. One of the caves you could climb through and end up on the top of the mt. Which of course had spectacular views of near by china beach. Then the last cave was massive, you could have fit a small office building in there. It was really huge. They had also built a few temples on the mt as well which were quite impressive. Once i finished up there i hopped back on the bike and ... read more

March 8th Hoi An is a really cool town. Its very touristy but it has a historic feel to it and there are tons of shops. So i spent the day touring around checking out temples, old houses, some gov meeting places and did some shopping. There are tons of tailors here so i got shirt made $8 to wear on the beach, sun protection. I wanted to get a pin strip suit but A. i didn't want to have to carry it home or send it home and B. i have no real need for a suit. I just think they look sick. In the afternoon i caught a local music performance. They were all very talented. The instruments and the singers sounded beautiful. Dinner at night was amazing it was some sort of open ... read more
