Feb 14 So this morning I called the bank and found out that some one had hacked into a merchants account and stole a bunch of people card numbers. The merchant found out contacted visa and then Visa contacted my bank and shut down my card. They wouldn't turn it back on due to the possibility of someone else trying to use it. So I had to get a new one sent to me. I debated for a while on what to do try and make it to pichilemu and have it sent to a hostel there or stay with mike and get it sent here. Although I didnt want to stay long here it seemed the smartest/safest idea. So I had to fax mikes address to the bank  and sort it all out. Unfortunately, the ... read more

Feb 8 So today this girls went bike riding. I woke up a little late so they were ready and went without me. It was good they got to have some girl time and I caught up on emails and packed most of my stuff up. When they got back we had some fruit lunch and Denisse and I booked a rafting trip. She had never been and her friend couldnt go so I went with her. It was the same river but a bit cheaper so I was happy. We had a blast she loved it I'm happy she didn't fall out and get scared haha but she said she was more scared of the bees and flys then the river haha. She even did the jump off the rocks. She said she is really ... read more

Jan 26 end So I met up with the guys for dinner. Jordan wasn't feeling well so he stayed behind which was a bummer. Anyway we walked to the restaurant and were very surprised how nice it was, almost fine dining, mike and John were there waiting for us. We ordered 3 apps some calimari, grapes and BBQ provolone cheese, all of which were pretty delicious. I ordered the asado di tira (ribs of the cow), again was pretty delicious. Donkey ordered the lomito which I didn't realize was a filet, that was super tender and yes delicious. Then it was desert time I ordered the quesso e dulce (sweet potato jam and cheese) a very typical local dessert. I had forgot I had it last time I was here. It was pretty good. The jam ... read more

Jan 15 first day our course I organized my bags early this morning.  I was told to leave some stuff behind so put it in my board bag. I then headed over to the other hostel where they were going to pick us up at 10:15 ish and were brought our bags over to the hotel the guides were staying at and put them in their storage. After that was all sorted we were on our way. We had a bout a 3 or so hour drive before we got to our location. We had to stop and transfer people and some bags in a separate car because the minivan we were in was to low and wouldn't make the last stretch on the bumpy dirt road. We also had to get checked in at boarder ... read more

Jan 10  So today was the first day of my kayak course. The guys were late picking me up but so goes that in south America. Haha  When we arrived at the base I was introduced to Fernado who was going to be my instructor. He unfortunately didn't speak much english, luckily there was an ecuadorian girl who worked there but was also taking the course she was able to translate he parts I didn't know.   Anyway we took kayaks up to this small circular pool where we went over the basics of paddling and stability on the river. Then we went over how to do the roll when you flip the kayak. It's much harder than they make it look. Because you want to push down to flip you over but you need to ... read more

Jan 5th So I arrived to Cordoba at around 3:30am after a day and 1/2 of travel. That really took it's toll on me. But I caught a taxi to the hostel check in and caught a few hours of sleep. When I woke I over heard another travel that he got robbed from a locked locker. Lil sketchy.  I went down stairs and sorted my room price out cause I got over charged at night. I alos asked about the rock climbing poster. The woman said she'd check and get back to me.  So from there I decided to walk around the city and take in the sites. There are 7 universities here so I had high hopes for beautiful scenic city.  Well it turned out to be just average. There were some nice walking ... read more

April 3  Well nana addo was supposed to come by in the morning with his sister and take me up to the mountains but that didn't happen. He called and said we would go around noon with his sister and I'd hang out with ken in the morning. So ken and I went and got some fresh bead and some instant coffee milk for breaky.  We then went out to do some errands. He needed some cables for his scooter and had to pick up a mirror for his friends dresser. Not exactly what I was expecting to see and do in Ghana but I did get to ride a bunch of tro-tros, local communial taxis, so that was fun/intresting and I got to see more of the city, the medina/muslim market area. After we finished ... read more

March 25 Today when Entienne showed up I told him I wantted to cancel the whole surf camp. I explained my reasoning and he seemed really chill and relaxed about it. So I had to pay him 400 Rand, 350 for the taxi and then 50 for the breakfast. Plus I'm sure I lost my deposit. But overall I should be able to save a few 100 so whatever.  Anyway after I made breaky we Stephan, Karmin, Emil and myself headed out to Cape St Francsis to surf seal point. It was a fun little point break with a cool white light house at the point. There were a few guys out there when we got there but they left shortly. It was maybe waist to chest high few bigger sneaker sets. It was good fun. ... read more

March 17 So today I headed down to muizenberg beach to get a board and suit sorted. The train/metro was decent it stopped  twice for no reason for about 10 mins but we made it there fine. I checked out a few shops and found garys surf school.  The shops gave a good deal buy back at at least 50-69% so I ended up buying a used board and wetsuit but new fins leash and board bag for 1700 Rand about 230 usd not bad at all and he said he'd but it back for about 1000 so I'd only take 100 buck hit for a board for 2 weeks sweet. I decided to go test the suit n board out. The surf was absolut crap, washing machine, but it was nice to get in the ... read more

Then we were meant to go on s bush walk to see some old bushman paintings. We had a little timeto kill so Shell and I decided to try and climb one of the limestone mounds to get q good view.
