Wow, arrive at 6am London time at Heathrow airport. Collect my luggage and through customs to find my shuttle to my hotel. Once I arrive at my hotel, I have a quick wash (as my room wasn't ready) and change to go on my first day of walking around this wonderful city. I head out to first of all find a coffee. Starbucks it has to be, and with a croissant for breakfast to get my energy going at South Kensington. From there a nice walk along Cromwell Road past the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. On along Brompton Road past Harrods (well a quick looksie inside of course). Continuing up to Knightsbridge up to Hyde Park Corner. So many people around on this very nice day. The sun shining and the ... read more

Last day, and have to catch my shuttle to the airport, go through security, and then my flights to get home. London to Doha - 7 hours... Doha to Perth - 12 hours... then an overnight stay in Perth till the morning to catch the 6.50am flight to Adelaide - 2.5 hours. Arrival is lunchtime Christmas Eve. Just a few shots of you know you are in London when you see these things. Heathrow was my last meal before boarding, and of course Santa isn't too far away either. Goodbye England, it was the best. Today was going to test my skills. Firstly a train from my hotel on the underground to Gare du Nord station in Paris. Then on an international train from Paris to London arriving at St Pancras International. Then, a train to a town to relax 2 hours out of London. And from there, a tram from the city centre to the quite outskirts on a 15 min tram trip. Luggage in tow, and wow, I even got on earlier trains to make it even smoother riding without the hastle of waiting around for my time slot. This worked perfectly. The English countryside is very pretty, with rolling hills, greenery and also a nice sunset. Today was the second day of my big bus tour. The day was very overcast and was raining, but it didn't stop me from heading out to do some sight seeing. Off I walk to the bus stop about 1.5km from my hotel, and board the bus to see the things I didn't stop and see yesterday. Some pictures might be the same as yesterday, but different directions. I am glad that I did, as there was so many sights that I missed on the first day. First stop was the ballet theatre, and also the Christmas markets, and of course some Vin Chaud to drink to warm me up.
