I find I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's only a feeling a free man can feel. I hope these 'foreign lands' are as beautiful as they have been in my dreams...
Hello It's really hard to find the right words to describe how i am feeling right now. So i'll wrap it up. My last days in Iceland were very nice. The hot springs and sauna each morning were needed very much. The hot pots were outdoors and some mornings the rain would pour down from the heavens while you were soaking. I had much time for reverie and i loved my last location. I flew out and landed in New York later in the evening. It was raining in the city so i couldn't be bothered to take the train in to roam the streets of NYC all night and then catch my early morning flight out to the west coast. So I wandered the terminals of JFK all night and got a little sleep in ... read more
In disbelief is where you can find me... A lonely land it is. I know everyone is well. Summer is all but done. As is my time. I had a great last day in London. Bertie and i rolled around Camden, Soho, Covent and the usual sights and then his brother came down from up north and we smashed a great dinner and an AMAZING desert prepared by their mom. It was really nice to have a home cooked meal with a family. In NE Turkey was the last time i had that. With Volkan´s family. I hope they are doing well. I flew out that morning and got in here to Iceland. It was pissing down and i couldn´t be bothered with hitching or the cost of public transportation along with the lack of freedom ... read more
Hello Hope all are well. Yeah.....time does fly when you're havin fun... After leaving that section of the Highlands, i passed through Glinfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel. Magnificent site that was. With much history as well. The clan systems and warfare between them down through the ages is fascinating. I kept going that day and finally got to the beach of Morar. White sand with turquoise waters welcomed me that day. It was much needed since i had seen rain everyday in Scotland so far. The sun came out and the storms broke. I was in shorts and running down sand dunes along the blue sea all afternoon. ~Alone. I camped that night on the beach with nobody to bother me. Except the sunset and crashing waves. What a time. I passed through a ... read more
Wow already here... What a time it has been!! Hello from the Highlands of Scotland. Remember how i said i was reminded of the sights and sounds of the street theater during my time in New Zealand. My last day in Edinburgh, i watched James the magician and Rodney the escape artist perform. I had seem them perform and tell the same jokes back in New Zealand many months ago. In February, Rodney picked me out the crowd to help tie/wrap him up in chains. Then i timed him with the escape. Good times I rolled through Stirling after Edinburgh. Much history there and also the monument to William Wallace along with the old battle sites. I couldn't wait to get back into the mountains though and my heart ached for them. I hitched out of ... read more
Hello Yeah Leaving a good place is always sad. You never know when you will see your friends abroad again. Life is good. Made it up to Scotland. I think i am in heaven. The Fringe Festival rolls through the last 3 weeks of August here in Edinburgh. Another one of the great festival/holidays i have been a part of this year. All types of things going on from 12noon to midnight. Street theater mostly during the day giving way to comedy, drama, dance, musical concerts, and improv shows at night. I love street theater and seeing it here all day reminds me of Boulder and Nelson/Christchurch in New Zealand. I have seen/listened to things here (music on the street) for the first time ever. Diablos and the chang. One is a hour glass lookin toy ... read more
Yeah, these are just a few of my favorite things. I hope all are well. August is now too almost gone. You know my opinions about how time goes by. Living here in Amsterdam has been a great experience. What an introspective time it has been for me. Much time for reverie and exploring this city on bike, usually till i'm lost and then found... once again. The time to reflect back on where i have been and the things i have done and the people i have met this year has been some of the most enriching moments in my life. I still feel soo fortunate...! I love to people watch and seeing the world roll by as i sit in a park or on a street corner or in the middle of a square ... read more
Hello Summer is rolling. I know everyone is good. I am glad that GREAT aunt Jean is healing well and that the Nubster is feeling ok. Good ! I am in wonder of how Anna is able to express herself through technology. I always knew the only thing keeping her from taking over are opposable thumbs. I guess she got over that obstacle! Late july; I found my way through the Czech Republic. After the town of Olomouc in Moravia i went west into Bohemia. Prague is a jewel but far too crowded at this time of year. I remember those medieval streets, squares and bridges. This was my thrid time to explore and chill in this city. I know Octavian misses this place as much as me. Much time spent day dreaming of the great ... read more

Hello All Yeah, Life has been good. I still yearn for Turkey. Small things as i make my way across these lands. I will return... July is almost through though. I liked Transylvania very much. Quiet and isolated. Not too much in the way of science fiction though; but i do see how the region could initiate such ideas and fantasy. I made it to Poland. Night train through Hungary brought me to Krakow, a beautiful location. The flow of everyday life, very different from Turkey and Romania. The women are stunning. With a capital S. Words can't explain the perfection. My first taste of mass european tourism however. Can't say as i missed the hordes of em. Many stories they have of crazy world cup parties. I am now in Moravia. Eastern Czech is wonderful. ... read more
Hello I know everyone is having a great summer. I wish i was there. Esp for the fourth. July is on the downslide. I have been gone nearly 7 months. Wow... I am in Romania now. OHhh how i miss Anatolia I miss my town and the mountains. I miss the food and the people. I miss the times and the purity. My last few days in my town were good. I was asked to be a guest teacher at the summer school for English. People of all ages, from all around the region came and were split into 3 different levels of ability. I was happy to go and mainly answered questions and gave proper pronunciation to everything. They couldn't believe an American was there living and in their class. I thank my friend Attila ... read more
