Wow! How did you find my blog about my time at the Eastern Hotel?
And what were you doing in Malaysia in 1960? It sounds like you have had an interesting life. How about writing some Travelblogs like I did?

Your travels are inspirational! :)
25th January 2013

Thanks for reading my blogs!
I know that you were already inspired to travel, but hope mine inspire you to travel more...and find interesting places to go. In March I will be traveling from Beijing to Xian and then following the Silk Road as far as Bukhara, Samarkand, and Tashkent, then flying to Riga, Latvia to see the Baltics and Finland, stopping in London on the way home to Colorado. Around the world in one month...my travels tend to be short and intense due to responsibilities at home!

Pleasant afternoon reading your blog.
I stumbled into your blog following a link for Christian Alliance Guest house. I spent a pleasant afternoon reading your early history and time in Europe. For 4 years now my husband and I have lived in Chiang Mai, Thailand, after nearly 30 years in Fairbanks, Alaska. The winters go much faster here! We met at a Christian boarding school in Eastern Kentucky, so some of your experiences parallel ours (i.e., dorm life before college). We are Christians, so I particularly enjoyed reading some of the early missionary stories. Tom, my husband, worked as a construction superintendent, so I could even follow stories about building and concrete. By the way, the 3rd and 4th generations Morse family are still in Chiang Mai. My first year here I kept running into people who would say, "Do you know the Morse family?" And there is still a Christian farang community somewhat woven together. We have studied Thai and can converse. Not sure we'll ever make it to Europe (especially after cheap Thailand), but your blog/photos give so much information about what to see and make me want to go!

Thanks for introducing yourself...
and for enjoying reading my blogs. Chiang Mai was one of the two places we enjoyed living during our life...the other being Woodland Park, CO where we now live. Linda wanted to live in Anchorage after retirement, but I thought that was too remote. I hope you will give our greetings to the Morse family...they should remember us. I hope you can also visit the top of Doi Inthanon just southwest of Chiang Mai...I wrote blogs about surveying the top of the mountain in my senior year of high school, and then returning after college to construct the road and radar installation on top. If you ever need any travel advice for Asia or Europe, let me know. My son is currently teaching English in Bangkok and his contract will end in March. He will meet me in Beijing, where we will then follow the Silk Road across China to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, before then flying to the Blatics and back home...around the world in four weeks. I will be blogging that trip too. You should join Travelblog and write about your travels...you don't have to go back to childhood!

NZ in my list
Not for now or anytime soon, but definitely in my bucket list. With a sister and her children based in Sydney, I've long planned on hopping over to NZ for a week or 2. Obviously, it never happened. But I never realized it's quite expensive there. Gotta save up!
