Great Visit!
I am SO excited to see your pictures! My father (Roger Carlson) attended approximately 1934 until the Japenese invasion (I think around 1941). We were in Dalat in late 1996, but were unable to locate the building.

Bob, I'm reading and am up to May 25th!! So interesting! Reminded me how difficult international travel can be, and also how much fun and exciting. I am so sorry about your gout and pray that eases soon! I was laughing out loud with some of your stories and descriptions. Your mom is certainly adding adventure to the trip!! What a trooper she is to even attempt this journey. Congrats to Will on his acceptance to the college in Rome for the fall. I can't wait to read more....

I started blogging on Travelblog in 2009, entering trips beginning in 2007. My intention has always been to document my years of travel since my birth...how else was I to save all the slides my Dad took of my childhood! Most bloggers write about their trips away from home. Mine, and eventually Linda's, homes have usually been where people travel to. So the idea eventually percolated to name our blog "Home and Away."
