Woodland Park is on the map...Big Time
Wonderful the USA Pro Challenge had a stage start in your home town Bob. Congratulations your Aquatic Centre Project has got the green light. Many hours of planning can now pay off. Just the small matter of raising the money to do so.

Raising money...
yes, that's just a small matter. Glad to have support in Australia! I responded to your blog with the beer story and tried to attach a picture of us drinking your favorite...Toohey's Extra...not sure comments allow pictures.

Did you Ask Frank Shleck if he actually put water in his water bottle?
Thanks for thinking of us cycle-tourists! Good luck with the Aquatic Project!
23rd August 2014

I didn't get to meet Frank, unfortunately...
And thanks for any luck that comes our way on the Aquatic project!

Happy Birthday to Mom
I love it when travel bloggers write about their local area. What a fantastic event Woodland Park was a part of. Biking is a sport that continues to grow in interest even with the scandals of the past few years. It is amazing how in shape the bikers are. I too, salute all the TB bikers cycling around the world. Great blog.

Bikers
Oh... and Happy Birthday to your mum. Now where I come from 'bikers' is a tamer word for those who ride motorbikes who do not want to be tainted with the label 'bikies' (which has connotations of illegal and bandit type rough bearded sexist criminal tatooed types). We call those who ride bicycles 'cyclists'. Anyway.. after that little piece of being pedantic...... nice to have such an event and be part of it. Well done.

Thanks for the definition from where you come from...
a reminder that our English language has many words that don't mean the same everywhere. I will go with your term "cyclists" from now on...but not edit the blog. Thanks for commenting!

A most impressive life of travel.
Even though I might never move abroad I still hope to be able to look back on a life travel such as yours. I look forward to reading more about your life and experiences. :)

Your stories are always so heart felt. Thank you for sharing. Places can bring memories. Good to have the family together again.

Blogs coming, hopefully
Thanks, for asking, Bob! I still can't decide on a camera, and I'm bored with reading reviews, so I do nothing. I was sick these last several weeks, so I've not written any blogs, but I do hope to start catching up soon on old ones from this trip.

Glad you made it
What a strange coincidence with the anniversary of both deaths and his last day. Glad you managed to survive. Great reading about a place near and dear

Great landscapes!
What beautiful places to share and walk with your family! Love those lake, forest and elk photos. Like Rosanna, I've considered moving to Boulder; good to hear there's a Trader Joe's there, and that you're going to get one too. Glad you made it past Aug 2, and congrats on 9 years of retirement near this slice of heaven!

Great to hear from you Tara...
did you ever replace your camera? Do you still have pictures on your computer for untold trips as we are missing reading your blogs?

August 2
I'm glad to hear that you survived the day....and I'm sure that there will be many many more. It sounds like you had a lovely time with family, and a nice way to remember some very special people.

Congrats on the job, Cecily, and on the pics!
I've traveled quite a bit all around the US but somehow I've never visited Colorado. Yours pics make me wanna go! Thank you for sharing

Growing Up
Wonderful to hear of your family filling you with joy and adding grandchildren for you to be Santa. Let's face it Bob...Santa lives in the North Pole and Bob Santa is alive and well in Colorado...enjoying anniversaries and looking forward to the next one. Hiking? Really?
6th August 2014

Hiking...
Rosanna had promised that we would do some real hiking while she was here, but that never happened. I wanted to prepare for an eventual "walk" on the Camino de Santiago de Compostello, so now I will only have my dog Bonnie to walk with. Manitou Lake is 10 km from my front door, so my goal is to walk there and back without too much difficulty.

You have a beautiful family~~
It was so lovely meeting you guys -- the only downside was that we didn't get to talk longer. Though you speak of an emptying nest, I remember Linda mentioning that you have plenty of pets to ensure there isn't a void. I recall Linda saying that they aren't all yours? ;) I'm sure we will meet again down the line as my side of the family is over in Colorado and who knows? Maybe some day we'll consider making Colorado home. Congratulations to the beautiful bride and handsome groom! p.s. Just read your latest comment-reply -- 6 Degrees of TravelBlog??

Thanks for your comment...
Ryan and Tamara were having trouble finding an apartment in Fort Collins where he works. So I contacted Kari12, winner of last week's BoW who I learned lives there. It just so happened that she was about to buy a house and needed someone to fulfill the rest of her lease. So this weekend we are taking a look at her apartment, and I will meet her for the first time. I love how the Travelblog community networks and helps each other! Also on Monday, Tamara has a job interview for teaching. So it should be an interesting weekend.
