Dance, dance, dance
Dancing brings joy to everyone. It is great that you saw the dancers and could alert others. Why was it not well advertised? I can see the attraction of coming to Woodland Park. I laughed when you asked about the cookies but in Colorado it is likely that they were something else.

Morris Dancers
First, Congratulations for your perseverance to improve and increase your miles, especially before the Norway trip! I'm so glad! It's so interesting to learn about the Morris Dancers. I never heard about them before. In order for them to dance in such a synchronized fashion, they must practice it well and in such a large group...I wonder how they coordinate between all the dancers coming from various parts in the U.S. Great story, Bob!

How Wonder to See!
Thanks for your posting on seeing the Morris Dancers - we saw our first ones in Rochester, UK a few years ago and whenever we hear that they are in an area, we always try to see them - quite a sight to see and to listen to - thanks again - sounds like you had a wonderful time

Your interesting life...
Bob, you have such an interesting life! The amazing thing is that "interesting" finds you in Woodland Park! Of course I have never heard of Morris Dancers, and of course you have and have even seen them before in England so when they showed up in Woodland Park you were probably just about the only person in town who knew what was happening...including their history dating back to 1448! Amazing!

Ricks Camino
Bob I read you comments early on, and appreciate your advise. I am 18 days into my Camino and am suffering from severe shin splint on my left leg, leaving it swollen and painful with every step. I searched back to your Camino and related to your comments about your motivation to walk and what a "true Pilgrim" is. People walk the Camino for personal reasons and I see no room for judgement on "how" you walk. I am not staying in Auberges, not carrying a 25lb pack, just a 12lb day pack and really enjoy the solitude. My point is, weighing my options right now as to, walk on this injury or take a bus for a few days was weighing heavy on my mind, as not walking would be considered "giving up" and not being a "true Pilgrim". Resting the injury for a day or two seems OK now, thanks to your comments. The Camino has been everything I had hoped for far and I will continue, and thanks to your comments guilt will not be part of the load I will carry.

You had my attention at Broncos
Steelers? What is wrong with you! Don't say that out loud they may run you out of Colorado. (smile) At least you've realized now what your training sessions need to look like to allow you to be successful in Norway. I know you will be fine...but you've got some walking a head of you. From my perspective you've learned two things. 1. camino angels are every where 2. Always, always, always take reminders from Linda. :) We are proud of what you accomplished last year and know your will and determination will take you on this next journey. Enjoy the process. Remember to have fun training.

Good lessons!!!
And I will succeed!

Keep walking!
slow but steady. You have time to get in shape. Can't wait to see more of your walks in the countryside...and then in Scandinavia!

Great lesson and the photos are great. Thanks for sharing.

I am proud of you!
Bob, failure is the pillar of success. In retrospect, it's perhaps blessing in disguise that you didn't quite make it to Finish line.... this is your wake up call before your 21K walk. Although, I think Norway will be more conducive weather for the walk. But I am proud of your motivation. Whether you could touch down the finish line or not, is a secondary matter. It tells a lot about you that you participated. And don't forget the walking stick, hat and your water bottle in Norway.

Thanks for your encouragement...
I was really discouraged only being able to walk 4 Km this time when normally 7 Km is a breeze. But as you say, it was a wake up call not to take anything for granted. I will remember to take water, walking sick and a hat for future walks.

Inspiring!
Your blog entries are always so inspiring! Even all the trips you are pondering taking make me thing, wow, I want to go, let alone the trips you ultimately decide to go on.

Inspiring...
Thanks! I hope I've inspired you to walk at least some portion of a pilgrim trail someday. In Germany it would be the St Jacobsweg. It's the other pilgrims that make such a journey so worthwhile.

Remarkable reunions
Excellent blog my friend. So great hearing the stories of reconnecting and what your friends have done with their lives. We know your story and you've accomplished a lot in your time. I'm glad you had such a great turn out. Hopefully by now your voucher has arrived.

Amazing tale
The first time I have read your early posts. Excellent that your parents wrote such detailed letters. Having just returned from Tibet this is especially interesting.

Early posts...
People keep asking me how I remembered my earlier trips, starting before birth! It's my parents letters, diaries, and stories they told when showing us slides (we didn't have TV in those early years). I was so fortunate to have these resources in putting together what is my legacy for my family, including my TB family. Last month was the first month that someone read everyone of my blogs. I learned at the reunion that it was Carolyn, my prom date, who took three full days of constant reading to read them all.

Dalat School Reunion
What a fantastic gathering Bob. That so many travelled from so wide and far to be there...the best being so many. That you were able to reminisce with old class mates, house parents from various locales and your old school that came together in wartime is very special indeed. I guess the best bit for you is that you went to the trouble to attend and thus have such special shared memories. Well done!

Thanks, David...
I've been blessed to have so many classmates living all over the country and the world who are family. Even after 50 years we picked up like we never were parted.

A sweet reminiscence!
Bob, It must have been great to catch up! Your hair looks perfectly fine after the haircut (or may be hairdo...you didn't tell the truth!!) Margie was definitely lucky after the engine failure. I gather it must have been a single engine Cessna type! By the way, how did Linda got back home after seeing you off at the airport, because you parked the car for 4 days in the airport. Last, but not the least...Good luck with the $200 voucher from the airline! Please tell me next year if you have received it or not! LOL

Sweet reminiscences
Her plane is a single engine Cessna. Ha! Linda didn't go to the airport with me! As of Frontier reimbursements, they promised to reimburse my hotel bill within 30 days of my submission. I submitted the claim and they now say 90 days. I'll let you know if I ever get the $200 voucher!
