Geo: 47.6353, -122.302Vacation Day 3 Monday Sept 19thWhere do I start? Today was long, exhausting, and fantastic. We started the day with some kisses & cards and a mini celebration of our 2 year wedding anniversary! Yay! We were up early and out the door by 6:30 as we had a driver to take us from the airport to downtown Seattle. The traffic getting to downtown Seattle was bumper to bumper. We got to our hotel much quicker than expected – we had a great second generation Chinese American named Rocky as our driver. He was quick and polite – two things everyone likes in a driver. We arrived at the Warwick early and our room wasn't ready so we left our bags with the concierge and said we'd be back in a few hours. We made ... read more

Geo: 47.6353, -122.302Vacation Day 2 Sunday Sept 18 2011 Last night was another night of not-so-great sleep. I remember staring at the clock at 1:17am and again sometime just after 3:00 am. Unfortunately, the alarm did not go off at 4:30 as scheduled. Luckily, I woke-up at 4:47 am and jumped out of bed and so did hubby. He jumped in the shower and I went to blow-dry my still-wet hair from my shower the prior evening. We were dressed, all-dolled-up, and out the door in decent time. Driving on I-270 and I-70 at 5:30 in the morning is a lot easier than during regular daytime traffic hours. Thank goodness. We made it to our hotel, paid for our reverse park n' fly package, and were on the hotel shuttle at 6:20 am. Perfect timing. We ... read more

Geo: 38.5389, -90.4073Saturday 9-17-2011 St LouisI tossed & turned last night. I was awake off and on most of the night – excitement, worry, and sadness over knowing tomorrow we would be leaving my baby – Simon – the world's most spoiled Yorkie – for 19 nights. What will he do without us?? After yet another last minute stop at Wal-Mart (I have a love-hate relationship with Wal-Mart), a trip to the bank and the post office, lots and lots of negotiating "how will all this ever fit into two bags" and some final kisses to Simon (with lots of tears from mom), we were on the highway at exactly 12:00. Hubby noticed this and I got the camera for the parting shot.It was cool today – mid 60s. I was actually cold and was thankful ... read more

Geo: 37.209, -93.2916Orlando Overview ~ I give it a "C" for adult vacationers! We liked Orlando. We have both been to Florida before and of course we love Florida. I would be interested in retiring there in about 20 years ~ one can dream, right?? We loved the weather in Orlando in May. I will highlight the good and the bad but overall, we have decided to not travel to Orlando again. This was our least favorite vacation so far. I apologized to hubby on several occasions, even while we were there, for picking such a destination without thinking it through. In the end, we discussed the top six items we want on a vacation and that is what we will keep in mind the next time I decide to waste our hard-earned money and precious annual ... read more

Geo: 28.5377, -81.3774May 14, 2010We flew home today. Thank Goodness. Hubby slept from around 10:30 pm~ish until when the alarm went off at 04:30 am. I was up until almost 1:00 am folding and packing for the airport and making-sure we could take showers and quickly finish packing the last few items before we had to meet the taxi downstairs at 05:30 am. Central time... this would be waking at 3:30 am and leaving for the airport at 4:30 am. Yikes. Well, after 3 1/2 hours of sleep, the alarm did sound. We showered and downstairs with about ten minutes to spare. I am becoming a better packer with each flight ~ especially since we did not check luggage ~ only had our carry-ons this time. Nice. Taxi ride to the hotel was interesting. The driver ... read more

Geo: 28.5377, -81.3774May 13, 2010Today was going to be Theme Park Day #2. Thank God we decided it was not worth it! After having spent the day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure we had already ruled-out another day at Universal Studios... we considered SeaWorld as it had come highly recommended by several of our short-term British friends we met on this trip... hubby even wanted to consider Aquatica ~ despite the fact that our hotel has three large pools, a jacuzzi, an amazing water slide, and a lazy river that can probably stand-up to most water parks. What did we do today?? We did what two, hard-working adults should do on vacation ~ slept-in and then spent the majority of our day at our hotel water park!! It was fantastico! We started the day by ... read more
