Geo: 37.209, -93.2916 Two weeks from today we will be heading toward St Louis so we can start the long (and exciting for ME) process of flying from St Louis to Atlanta to Dublin, Ireland on Delta Airlines. Between spring yardwork and mowing, cleaning the house, half-way packing, and planning to start a new job upon return (yikes!).... I have been busy this weekend! This trip is the first trip I will actually be writing in Travelpod as we are vacationing. All of my past blogs are copied and pasted (poorly, I might say) and missing many pictures as they were all moved from my old, old-fashioned Blogspot blog. Geo: 20.9797, -89.6158We had a fantastic day today... we took a Carnival Cruise Line excursion and toured Uxmal. Worth every penny. Progresso or Merida, whatever you want to call it, is a beautiful port and the water is turquoise green and I have no clue why people complain about this port of call... so it's not all "glitzy" like Cozumel... that means there is still a lot left to see and learn about. Geo: 38.6276, -90.199We've been home for a bit now ~ actually, a couple of weeks. Basically, we had a nice vacation. We enjoyed seeing my family in Seattle, we luved-luved our day together in downtown Seattle, we thought sailing out of Vancouver was beautiful, the ship was beautiful, Mexico was pretty-much what we expected the "poorer" side of Mexico to be, Carnival Cruise Lines did not disappoint in service and amenities, and we spent much less than I had budgeted, and overall... everything went smoothly.... no bad hotel rooms, missed flights, train wrecks, or stolen purses. It was all good. Was it fantastic and so overwhelming wonderful that we were left in a fog of wonderful feelings (like our honeymoon cruise two years ago)??? Ummmm... NO. Geo: 34.0533, -118.245Today was the day they kicked us off this beautiful ship. Despite the long delays and the crazy waits in Vancouver and San Pedro… they made-up for it today! Today, they got it right! We were in the waters at the San Pedro port before 6:00 am!! Guests were walking off the ship with their luggage before 7:30 am. I was awake (of course) and got a few pictures of the beautiful area just before daylight. We said our goodbyes to this lovely ship and a nice cruise and headed to the Los Angeles area to visit with relatives for the next couple of days. Since we were flying back to Missouri tomorrow, we stayed at the LAX Hilton tonight. It was just "okay" - but the third floor courtyard outside our room was ... read more
