Love the photos
I think I may have already told you that Naxos looked very inviting when we passed it on the ferry ride from Syros going south. It's so fabulous that you had the time to get to know it quite well.

Like Mykonos...
Some of your photos look so much like Hora in Mykonos, but without the hordes. The stories about DK Oyster Bar kept coming up on my news feed before we travelled, so we were extra careful about drinks menus when there. Absolutely shonky, but like you said, it's clearly a system that works for them, so they don't appear to care.

Sitting vs Standing
The rushing to the front of the plane as soon as we touch down irks me beyond belief! Weirdly it doesn't bother me as much on larger planes as it does on the small domestic planes in Australia... I was on a Virgin flight once (in their early days when they were trying to market themselves as the young hip airline) and a sassy cabin crew made an announcement on landing that anyone who stood up before the seatbelt sign went off would be booed over the PA system... it was hilarious and not one person stood up! I loved it! :)

Excellent jockeying for this gate sunset photo! One of our ferries stopped at Naxos on the way south and it looked like a beautiful place... so many gorgeous islands so little time :)

Many years ago, I remember watching an episode of Shane Delia's travel program (Something like Spice Trail?) where he visited a salt pan business that had been run by the same family for many generations. It was oddly very fascinating :)

I'm sorry Izzy didn't get to enjoy this amazing structure. We were there in April and the crowds were manageable. It had changed a lot since I was there in 2003. They have new walkways and stairs. It was very nice.

Yep, sure was a lot different to when I was last there way back in 1964, and you were able to trample all through a scaffold-free Parthenon. The price of progress I guess. Many thanks for reading!
