Our second game of the season got off to a rough start. As a team we came out a little sluggish and DCU took advantage of that and pulled out to a quick lead. I got in early foul trouble again and got two fouls in the first quarter, they wont cut me any slack over here, guess I am to physical, ha..We cut the lead to about 15 points, but never got closer than that. It was a frustrating defeat because as a team we are much more talented, we just need to use our talents together and we will be heading in the right direction. We are a team with not much experience (A whole new starting 5), but I am sure we will gain experience as the season progresses. I still see a ... read more

I was just thinking about my recents blogs and I havent given you all a typical week for me over here in Belfast. Obviously I am studying here and getting my master's in Sports Management as well as teaching first year students. I start off my monday's teaching first year students (freshman) basketball. It is an awesome class because none of the kids have ever played basketball before so I am getting a chance to teach them a new sport. As people know I love doing that, so I am really enjoying that, and I get paid to do it as well. I also have one class on Monday which is Sports Marketing. My teacher is from Australia and is a very good teacher. This is probably my favorite and most beneficial class for me. Monday ... read more

Wow...what a weekend I had in Dublin...I went to Dublin with another American who is studying here as well and playing volleyball. We headed down Saturday afternoon and took the bus. Crossing the border we got stopped by the immigration patrol..pretty scary. I didnt know I should bring my passport and they asked for everyone to take them out. Thank goodness they didnt ask for mine!! We were fortunate enough to get tickets to the Ireland vs Italy soccer match, quite the experience. They tied 2-2 so it was a fun game to watch. Sunday we went to the Guinness factory which is really cool. We did the tour around the factory and meet some people from America along the way. They are studying abroad in Barcelona. I found that when you are traveling people are ... read more

Hello Everyone!! Hope everyone is doing well back at home....this weekend should be a lot of fun. Tonight we have practice from 5 to 6:30 should be an easy one because of the game on Sunday. After practice the team is heading into Belfast to go watch the Belfast Giants play the Newcastle Eagles. The Belfast Giants are the ice hockey team here and I hear are pretty good. Don't know if they are as good as the Captials which I hear are 1-0 and beat Boston last night. At least we have one good team in the Metropolitian Area ha. Saturday could be an important day. Me and two other lads on my team are suppose to meet with the owner of the Melbourne Tigers which is the team we will be doing our internship ... read more

Hello everyone! Had a very good weekend. Thursday night was a lot of fun. We celebrated 250 years of Guinness which was a blast. Pretty cool I got to be in Ireland for that day. We had media night before we went out. My coach, Ian O'Boyle, Gareth and I all had a press conference which went well. You can see the press conference on you tube. If you type in Ulster Elks Media night it should come up. I was also on the radio friday on the hour every hour which was also very neat. They also did an article on me in the Belfast Telegraph. I cannot wait for the season to get under way, 6 more days until we play Belfast Stars which should be a good game. Belfast Stars are our rivals ... read more

Whats going on everyone?!? I want to apologize again that I have not been ontop of my blog. We are still waiting on internet in our house. We finally just got cable 3 weeks after we moved in, but hey we are making progress. Internet should be working in about a week, cannot wait. This past weekend we had three scrimmages and they all went well. We won all three of them which is great for us. We won our first game by 30 against a team who is also in the SuperLeague and I played well, I had 29 points and 13 rebounds, pretty exhuasted after, but i survived. Our second game was later that day on Saturday. We played a team from Scotland called the Edinburgh Kings and won by 2. I had 44 ... read more

Still without Internet hope to have it by Thursday so you all can see the pictures I have taken so far. The lifestyle here is somewhat different then over in the states. First off dryers are not normal here, majority of people here hang dry their clothes and for me that is a huge change. I did actually hang dry my first set of laundry which was very cool. I actually bought a device that is just made for hanging your wet clothes. Another lifestyle change is to get hot water you have to hit a switch that is in our kitchen and it takes about 15 minutes to get hot water, so most of my showers have been cold. Lastly, there is no AC in the houses, only heat so I went and bought a ... read more
