Hi de Hi campers As you can see from the title, we have moved, but 1st we have a couple of days to catch up on. Thanks for the comments you guys, really appreciated and keep em coming, we like them. Quite a lot of hits on the site so again thanks for reading. Still at Karon, we venture out on the handy little moped and end up at a beautiful place called Kata, it has the most beautiful bay type cove which would not look out of place in any dream holiday brochure. Horse shoe in shape, lovely pine, coconut and palm trees all around, golden sands leading onto a very gentle sloping turquise sea. Very pretty. After a pleasant bus and ferry journey to ko lanta I arrived at Keantiang bay view resort just as the sun was setting. I checked in to my beach hut which costs about a fiver a night, dropped my bags and strolled along the beach. Its on the southern end of the island and is one of the best beaches I've ever seen. I wish I could show some pictures but I have yet to work out how to post them on this blog site. Its about 2km long and crescent shaped with steep sided rocky out crops at either end. So, we started our weekend, on Saturday morning, at an orphan home, which was huge!! 900 orphans living on school property, campus style, which were the nicest conditions we've seen so far. We joined up with another volunteer and a volunteer organization leader, and 2 Thais, to teach/review English with about 25 teenagers, 13-16, including some "lady-boys" as they call them (a group of 6-7 boys who are extremely feminine and not afraid to hide it!!) Very entertaining! These kids are so eager and motivated to learn English, as we practiced general greetings. At the end, Rob played his guitar, which they loved, and a student played the guitar and sang a Thai song for us, in which the others joined in, which was beautiful! I found this place for 2 months ago. It's a lovely restaurant and homestay manage by a special family. I've a lovely room on the upstair and there are only one room for private room but the dorm room so lovely also. I've very big beautiful windows in my room and nice mattress side the window so I can lay down look out to see the stars above coconut trees in the darkness. At here I can cook for myself and used the washing machine everytime I want. The bathrooms are nice and clean. There are 4 girls in the family and they are so lovely especially the 2 kids who are naughty but cute.
