Wow we finally meet again! We are all so happy to be together again after 20 months! Day trip to Kuantan was cool we went on the local bus saving heaps of money. Spent the day shopping in town then headed back on the local bus. We waited for half an hour for the bus back and it didn’t come so Scott decided to go ask a taxi driver how much it would cost. Two minutes after he left the bus came and we all hoped on hopping we would be able to see Scott on the way. At the traffic lights we saw him and started yelling at him to run. He looked up and it was like a slow motion movie as he jumped fences and swerved though traffic to catch our now moving ... read more

English translation coming soon... Singapore From Brisbane we flew to Singapore where we met my old chum, Jude, who kindly let us stay at her gaff. The first night we had dinner and a few beers before heading off to bed. The next day we didn’t manage to drag ourselves out of bed until 4pm but it was all good as there were huge rain storms!!! The second night we headed towards the waterfront and had dinner, v impressive. Thereafter, Jude, great tour guide that she is, showed us the Merlion, symbol of Singapore. It’s cross between a fish and lion which apparently represents Singapore’s strength etc. We didn’t see much of Singapore but from what we did see we would agree with the general view that it’s quite a clinical place, everything is pretty much perfect. I think we ... read more

8 hours by boat, 27 1/2 hours by bus and 24 hours by train, with a total of 3,064km's covered we say goodbye to Malaysia, content with the fact that we saw all there is to see in this amazing country! Now for the rundown of places we've stayed, areas we've visited and what we loved about Thailand and what we hated about it: Langkawi: Best: Peacefulness Worst: Getting used to a new religion (not necessarily a bad thing!) Rating: 8/10 Alor Setar: Best: Centre Plaza Mall Worst: Not a great deal else here Rating: 2/10 Kuala Lumpur: Best: The malls Worst: For such a cosmopolitan city it's hard to find a decent breakfast! Rating: 7/10 Gemas: Best: The hotel Worst: Absolutely nothing to this small town Rating: 1/10 Gua Musang: Best: Beautiful surroundings to a ... read more

Our bus from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur only took 6 hours and we both had a TV screen on the back of the chairs in front of us. They had lots of different movies and TV shows and we could pick what we wanted to watch. When we arrived in Kuala Lumpur we got a taxi from where the bus let us off. A long time later and our taxi driver couldn’t find our hostel. We knew he was in the right area, he just couldn’t find it. We eventually got out and said we would walk. We asked a few people and eventually found it. Bags unloaded we headed out for something to eat. We could already see the big price difference between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. We ended up in a very nice place ... read more

Took the morning bus (Konsortium SVIP) from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur Puduraya Station (s$30, was actually pretty centrally located). Although I wasn't too impressed by the city, I did get to enjoy what there was to offer. I went to the Batu Caves in the evening but the monkeys had all gone home for the day, leaving worshippers and a few roosters. There are a few shrines ppl can make a donation to and go up to/give an offering or pray to. Getting up to the caves was a daughting task, 271 steps I believe, from the top looking down, you don't wanna miss a step of you'll end up at the bottom, with a few bruises as well. I also ventured out to a few other places, KL Tower (38rm) which I don't believe was ... read more

It’s official. Malaysia is full. I’ve been to some pretty crowded places in my time, but never before have I come across an entire nation which was sold out. Admittedly we hadn’t done ourselves any favours by arriving in late July, slap bang in the middle of peak season, but even so, you’d think there’d be at least some chance of somewhere to stay. Travelling used to be so easy. Any idiot could do it. Ironic, then, that now that so many idiots are travelling, it’s suddenly become so hard. In times past you could just mooch around to your heart’s content, go wherever you pleased and still rock up at midnight and have your pick of places to stay. What’s more, all were cheap as chips and you could stay for as long as you ... read more

Malaysia, sun, tropical climate, Palms and friendly people. A country less to discover a new culture more discover calmless, find yourself in blue water like from the Bounty advertise and hang out in a hammock, explore the jungle by foot or by train, having an expensive Tiger Beer and some malaysian specialities. Malaysian people are very friendly, helpful and the have a lot of things in mind but not your money. The islands seems to be created by a dreamer which realised his imaginations of wonderful place to spend the rest of your life.
