Un jour avant de partir de Ubud, nous avons reserve un chauffeur pour partir vers Amed. Evidemment, le moment venu, il ne s'est pas presente. Autant qu'on se fait achaler perpetuellement pour se faire offrir du transport, autant que ca nous a pris une bonne heure pour en trouver un autre et 50 000 roupies plus cher en plus ! En route vers Amed, on a vu le paysage se modifier considerablement pour devenir beaucoup plus sec et montagneux. En fait, j'avais pratiquement envie de vomir tellement les chemins etaient sinueux (les 5 oreos que j'avais mange pour diner n'ont pas du aider non plus). After the work camp in Thailand, I was off to Bali for a week of sun and surf with a buddy from Australia - except that I found out the day before I left for Bali that my buddy from Australia broke his ankle the week previous and was no longer making it. Total bummer! I had to think fast, as this was now going to be a significantly different trip. From Karbi I flew to Bangkok and then to Kuala Lumpur - I overnighted near the airport and then flew to Bali. I had to take the long way. Hey, I haven't really been up to that much since I've last updated really. Just kind of getting my head around what PATTIRO does and trying to figure out what it is exactly that they want me to do and also what I want to get out of that... The area in which the office is and also where I'm living is called Tebet and is quite a young, trendy area. There are streets nearby with loads of cafes and trendy, boutique type stores selling skaterish style funky t-shirts, skinny jeans, music etc. In the evenings especially it's really busy. Selamat siang (= Guten Tag auf Indonesisch)!!! Tja, lange ist es her, dass wir uns das letzte Mal gemeldet haben, aber wie treue Leser unseres Blogs sicherlich gemerkt haben, sind zwischenzeitlich einige Eintraege verschwunden, die wir erst wieder herstellen mussten. Aber jetzt sind wir wieder "online"... In unserer vorletzten Destination dieser Reise sind wir in eine fuer uns vollkommen neue und anfangs auch fremde Kultur eingetaucht, und zwar in die Indonesische, genauer gesagt in die Balinesische. Angekommen in der Hauptstadt Denpasar, lag die erste grosse Herausforderung gleich einmal im Ueberqueren der Strasse. Nicht so leicht, wenn einem hunderte Mopeds, Autos, Pferdegespanne und sonstige Karren um die Ohren brausen, laustark hupen aber niemand auf die Bremse steigt.... Aamulla lähdettiin Trawanganilta niin aikaisin kohti Kutaa, että hotellimme ravintola ei ollut vielä edes auki. Onneksi ystävällinen hotellin respatyöntekijä Rizal järjesti meille aamupalat suoraan huoneisiimme. Pienen odottelun jälkeen hypättiin julkiseen puupurtiloon ja matkattiin Lombokin mantereelle, Bangsaliin. Siellä sitten koitettiin etsit Bahar-nimistä kaveria, joka oli Rizalin serkku ja jolta saataisiin edullinen kyyti Lombokin Kutalle. Ongelma oli se, että ei oltu saatu yhteyttä Bahariin aikaisemmin ja nyt piti vain löytää kaveri ja toivoa, että hän olisi valmis heittämään meidät. Bangsalissa ongelmaksi muodostui kuitenkin suuri joukko natiiveja, jotka tulivat kauppamaan kyytejään. Kaikki olivat luultavasti saman firman kavereita, mutta silti jokainen tuli eteen pomppimaan ja kysyi kuinka paljon oltiin valmiita maksamaan.
