So...the story continues We left Phuket at 0530 for the flight to Singapore. Once there we booked our hotel at the airport. The taxi driver spoke really good English and told us loads of great places to go. I wanted to visit the night zoo so we did that on the first night. It was a good evening and saw lots of animals including Lions and Tigers. I really liked Singapore. The climate was just right, and the city was clean and welcoming. Nearly everyone spoke English. We looked round the shops and went to the cinema to see the new Hannibal film. (was ok). On the second day we went to Sentosa island. We went to see the underwater world and Dolphin show. It was a good day out and not too expensive, although more ... read more

Wow i havent written for ages and loads has happened. We are now in Seminyak in Bali. Its blowing a gale but the weather is still hot. I have not written since the Phi Phi islands so i shall begin there. Actually i shall go back to Krabi as i have forgotten to tell you about the sea kayaking and Elephant trekking, or did i?? oh i cant remember. Anyway the kayaking was good but hard work on the arms. We paddled through the mangroves and encounted some monkeys. These ones were quite well behaved and mostly staying in the trees. We chucked fruit up to them. The second bunch on monkeys were not so polite. They jumped on the boats (pooed on mine!) and pinched fruit from the baskets. The elephant trekking was fun but ... read more

Hi everyone, Well last time I wrote i was in Phi Phi, we left there and went onto Phuket on 3rd of March. However when we were on the boat waiting for the boat to leave I remembered that i hadnt emptied the safe in our hotel room which had the tickets, passports, money, mp3 player and everything in (not a smart move). So James volunteered to get off the boat go back and get my stuff out of the safe then catch the next boat to Phuket - I now double check the safe whenever i leave somewhere! While in Phuket the girls convinced me to go to the doctors about my sunburn because my leg and foot were so swollen and i had big blisters around my ankle so it made it difficult to ... read more

Bali. It’s a place unlike the rest of Indonesia. I would consider it a different country if it didn't use Indonesian Rupiah as its currency. When first arriving, you can see a huge difference. The people look different. The buildings are different. The biggest change is the large percentage of Hindu and Buddhist followers. Indonesia has more Muslims than any other country in the world. In Bali, they are a minority. In Bali the daily calling over mosque megaphones for prayer isn't heard. Instead the smell on burning incenses and sound of chants fills the streets. The other major difference with Bali with the amount of pigmently challenged people walking around. They are most commonly known as Buleis. In Hawaii they are called Haoles. In scientific terms they are known as tourist whitimus. The white ... read more

Selemat Pagi! (Good day-just about the only thing I've learnt in 4 weeks). Hope all's well in your worlds, i am bagus! Right, I think we'd just arrived in Bali last time, so as soon as the good weather came out, we hot-footed it to the beach where, after days of rain and travelling we just wanted to relax and fall asleep in the sun. No sooner had my sarong hit the sand we were pounced upon in every direction, by the whole world and his many wives, offering "manicures, pedicures, massage....?" Polite refusal is something that is quite hard to understand over here, but we were strong and didn't succomb to the countless sarongs, beads, sunglasses that we were being laden with. The only escape is to run to the sea, so that's where I ... read more

Hi everybody. We are now in Oz but have been a bit slack for doing our blogs so we do apologise!! After Malaysia we flew to Bali for two weeks for a bit of a holiday - well, this travelling lark is hard work!!!! We stayed in Kuta for the first few days for some serious surfing, sunbathing and splashing about in the pool. Then we headed to Ubud and went to Monkey Forest where Kerry had a close encounter with one of the residents. Then we decided to do a sunrise climb up Gunung Batur, a volcano which has steam still coming out of it, which meant getting up at 2.30am! It was not that difficult after climbing Mount Kinabalu in Borneo and offered great views of the sunrise over Lombok. We then headed ... read more
