So...the story continues

We left Phuket at 0530 for the flight to Singapore. Once there we booked our hotel at the airport. The taxi driver spoke really good English and told us loads of great places to go. I wanted to visit the night zoo so we did that on the first night. It was a good evening and saw lots of animals including Lions and Tigers.
I really liked Singapore. The climate was just right, and the city was clean and welcoming. Nearly everyone spoke English. We looked round the shops and went to the cinema to see the new Hannibal film. (was ok).

On the second day we went to Sentosa island. We went to see the underwater world and Dolphin show. It was a good day out and not too expensive, although more so than Thailand. In the evening we stayed to see the musical fountain. It cost 4 million to build, umm perhaps not money well spent! it was ok but aimed at a younger audience.

So now we are in Bali. We had sort of booked a villa, but had not received conformation. We arrived late and couldnt find the villa. We decided to let the taxi driver take us to a place he knew. I know this sound dodgy, and we were slightly worried but it turned out ok. It was slightly more than we intended to pay, but it was somewhere to stay other than the beach! the rooms were a bit posh with two showers and a huge bath tub. We checked out the next morning and are now staying in a cheaper place. Although it is still nice, with pool and A/C.

Me, Debbie and Sarah went horse riding on the beach today. It was good but i got the psyco horse which spooked at everything including seaweed, plastic bags and coaches. We met a coach on the road and it didnt like that! on the beach a helicopter flew past far too low and my horse (Mega) decided to bolt. Back at the hotel now with a rather tender backside! Going out tonight for a coulpe of drinks. Its low season here and there are very few tourists.

Well that is about it so far. We fly to Australia on the 12th and we are all really excited. I just hope there are some English speaking backpackers to talk to!
