Orion bear in KrabiOrion bear in KrabiOrion bear in Krabi

Have i sent you this pic before??
Wow i havent written for ages and loads has happened. We are now in Seminyak in Bali. Its blowing a gale but the weather is still hot. I have not written since the Phi Phi islands so i shall begin there.

Actually i shall go back to Krabi as i have forgotten to tell you about the sea kayaking and Elephant trekking, or did i?? oh i cant remember. Anyway the kayaking was good but hard work on the arms. We paddled through the mangroves and encounted some monkeys. These ones were quite well behaved and mostly staying in the trees. We chucked fruit up to them. The second bunch on monkeys were not so polite. They jumped on the boats (pooed on mine!) and pinched fruit from the baskets.

The elephant trekking was fun but i felt a bit sorry for the elephants having to lug James and myself around in the sun. Debbie burnt her legs really badly. They were red and swollen and started to blister. We took her to the Docs in Phuket who drugged her up to the eye balls. She is better now. So the kayaking and trekking was in Krabi. We then transferred to the Phi Phi lslands via ferry.

This took and hour ad a half. We were on the larger island called Phi Phi Don. Its beautiful. The island doesnt have any roads which is great because there are no cars or motorbikes. We stayed in a rather nice hotel with swimming pool. The first day was spent having a look around and drinking beer. The second day James and i went diving. I was a bit worried to begin with because i had caught a bit of a cold. Its not a good idea to dive with a cold including blocked up nose because it is hard to equalise. However the dive guys had special pills to unblock noses so i was well away. (One side effect is drowsiness. Oops) Anyway the diving was awesome! we saw loads of tropical fish including clown fish (Nemo) lion fish (posionous barbs), a sea snake, sting rays, squid etc and two leopard sharks! one was huge, around 12 foot. We dived to 18 metres which was cool, as i havent dived that deep before. We dived twice in the day and lunch was included. Debbie and Sarah stayed on the island

These were the nice monkeys
and took our clothes to be cleaned. (have to get the priorities right!)

We went for a Thai massage in the afternoon. I hated it. I think i must have had a she devil as my back was killing afterwards. I thought they were supposed to be a pleasant experience?! In the evening we went back to the dive shop to view the DVD made of our dive. It was really good so we decided to buy it.

Sat 3rd - Phuket
Only there for one night which i was quite pleased with. Didnt like it. Couldnt see the beach for the sunbeds. Hassled on the streets. Smelly and busy. Took Debbie to the docs for her legs. Hotel was ok, very big. Found Boos bar which was recommended by Nick Camm - Draftsman. Took a bloody age to find! bit small and only had a couple of middle aged foreigners in it. Stayed for one drink them trekked back to our hotel. Tomorrow fly to singapore.
