I woke up this morning around 10:15. I should have gotten up earlier. Kyle came and borrowed my big pot so he could make mashed potatoes. I decided I should get up. I went and checked outside our building to see if anyone was selling onions. They weren't. I decided to go ahead and start the mushrooms. I'm really glad I did because I finished after 11:45.. which is when we were supposed to be there. I used oil, garlic, salt and pepper. They turned out really well. I accidentally cut my finger a little bit when I was cutting the mushrooms. I walked over to the teacher's canteen with the mushrooms and two drinks. I got to the bottom of the stairs in front of my building when Eartha and Zoe came running asking if ... read more

Sometimes when I'm clicking where I am for my location on here, it totally freaks me out when I hit Asia. Again, with the "How crazy is it that I'm in China?!" Four months down, and it's still nuts. Christmas Eve began at about 7:30 in the morning or so. I woke up, got dressed, and called the fam because they would be there for Christmas. I didn't get to talk to everyone before Jessi knocked. Jession was with her, and we walked to the gate together to meet Stella. We took the bus into town and went to the open market. The open market = interesting. Jessi needed to buy chicken and beef. I watched them cut up a dead chicken.. luckily, it was dead. There were tons of live chickens also, and there were ... read more

I woke up at about 11:30 and got ready because I was supposed to meet Kyle and go to town to get stuff for today's festivities. I got online, and he said that maybe we wouldn't go because we could find everything here. Then he decided maybe we wouldn't try to make our sweet potato casserole. I agreed, so we went and got some lunch. We went to the Muslim noodle place. He got noodles; I got rice. We ran into everyone today, and they all wanted to tell us "Happy Thanksgiving". We went and got something to drink, and then went back to our apartments to eat. I ate and talked on Skype a little. I decided to take a nap. I've been pretty lazy lately.. I went to sleep about 1:30, and I probably ... read more

The title of this blog is a song from the movie, A White Christmas. I can't stand that movie. I lived with some girls in college who absolutely loved it. Any time they would watch it (which would be multiple times a year) I would have to leave the room or they would serenade me with that song. Seriously. I can't handle the movie, but I thought about my girls when naming the blog. I had an early morning.. 7:20. I slept with my heater next to my bed, but I still woke up a little cold. I got ready as fast as I could, and then I thought I would check outside to see if it was still sleeting. It wasn't. There was snow on the ground. I walked to class with Kyle and Jessi ... read more

Today was a normal day. I got up around noon because I ended up staying up really late last night... and by really late last night, I mean super early this morning. I got up and checked my email, and then I decided to go get something to eat. I went to the crunchy rice place. I got sweet and sour pork because when Kyle and I got it yesterday it was so good that I wanted some more. I got it to go, and I came back to my apartment. On my way back I ran into Dillon and Daley. They said hello and told me they were going to get something out of Dillon's old dorm. I ate, and then I realized I had nothing to drink, so I went to a store on ... read more

To sum up Friday and Saturday I decided to write a blog. I have pictures - thanks to Kyle. I taught Friday morning, and it actually turned into more of a lecture class than it was supposed to be. It was okay though. After class I came back and slept a lot. I think I finally got up around 3. I got up and started cleaning because I had students coming over at 7. Jessi called and asked if I wanted to come up to her apartment.. she had some girls up there. I declined. I was cleaning and working on my Halloween costume. I decided to get something to eat around 6. I was planning on going and getting something and bringing it back because I wanted to be in my apartment when my students ... read more

Do you have those words that when you begin to type another word, you automatically type it? I do that all the time. Even if I never use the word I automatically type, I still do it. I always want to type "ransom" for "random". When do I ever use the word ransom? You're right.. I don't. Here are some random things for you to look through. And the pictures are random too. They don't go with the blog at all, but I had them to share.. I'm pretty much used to all the split pants and using the bathroom in the street, but I'll tell you what I'm not used to.. and what I hope I will never be. The smell. Man, there are certain spots on campus that I just don't want to walk ... read more

This one's pretty much dedicated to photos. I do have to tell you that one of the most annoying things in the world is having a flickering bedroom light. It flickers ALL THE TIME.. aka when I'm trying to go to sleep. I hate it. Several of my lights flicker, but most of them stop. My bedroom light does not. I hate it. And I killed the cricket that had been creeping in my apartment for a while. It was driving me crazy. I finally pinpointed where I thought it was and sprayed Raid everywhere (it was a hole in my bathroom floor). It came half hopping/dragging out. It's dead. Oh, I watched the owner of a restaurant clip her fingernails while sitting in the dining area. She didn't put them in the trash.. just left ... read more

Man, I miss playing softball.. well, let me clarify.. so not to confuse. I miss playing summer league with Rick.. and Todd. Whoa. I haven't thought about Todd in like... I don't know... years. I had a crush on him. My friend Katrina made fun of him in front of his sister at the parents vs. kids game. It wasn't cute. That's the last time I saw him. I made it sound like that's the reason, but it's because I was too old to play after that year. Anyway, this is the change up.. Instead of sending out an email for yesterday, I thought I would blog about it. Hope no one is too thrown off by this. We could all use a little change, I think. Yesterday was a good day..
