My first view
This is from my back porch aka my dryer. The title of this blog is a song from the movie, A White Christmas. I can't stand that movie. I lived with some girls in college who absolutely loved it. Any time they would watch it (which would be multiple times a year) I would have to leave the room or they would serenade me with that song. Seriously. I can't handle the movie, but I thought about my girls when naming the blog.
I had an early morning.. 7:20. I slept with my heater next to my bed, but I still woke up a little cold. I got ready as fast as I could, and then I thought I would check outside to see if it was still sleeting. It wasn't. There was snow on the ground.
I walked to class with Kyle and Jessi through all the icy slush and water puddles and fallen trees. It was pretty intense.. like walking through a really cold jungle. The way we went to the teaching building wasn't as bad as the other way. The other way had a tree completely down on the sidewalk, and the people walking that way had to climb through it.
I taught speech

The view outside my apartment building. this morning. They all laughed at me for giving examples of what you shouldn't do in front of an audience while giving a speech. I had a girl ask to take a picture with me, and I think it had something to do with the fact that I had my big jacket and scarf on. It was a pretty good class.
Afterward, I walked with Kyle back to the apartment. He asked if I was going to eat lunch, and I told him to call me if he was awake then. I took my camera and went and took a few pictures of the snow. Then I came in and talked to my sister on Skype for a while and took a nap til about 12 when Kyle called and asked if I wanted to go eat. I declined because I was freezing and didn't want to go outside.
I woke up around 1:00 or so and got ready for class again. I went to the street a little before 2:00 to get some bread because I hadn't eaten all day, and if I didn't eat then I wouldn't eat until 6:00. So, after that I went to

My afternoon classes went pretty well. My students are getting much better at talking.. and they're volunteering.. well, some of them. I had one girl who sat in the back and did work for another class the whole time. I took points off participation for her. My other class was good. We were just finishing up midterms, and then we did an activity. They're so funny.. I let them go a couple of minutes early because it was cold and nearly 6:00.
I came back home and changed clothes and turned my heater on and stuck it in front of me. I asked Jessi if she had dinner plans, and she didn't, so she knocked on my door a few minutes later and we went and got something to eat. We went to the crunchy rice place and got sweet and sour pork. Kyle was there with Dillon. He told us that they were at a boys only table, so we said we were at a girls only one. He said something about all girls being uncool or something, and I got a good comeback in finally. I said, "Says the boy who complained all day yesterday

I thought of a Christmas tree. about being single." (Pretty good, eh?) He then proceeded to say that the girl he would marry would be cool. Jessi was on the phone talking to a student when my phone rang. It was Kyle. He hung up as soon as I got my phone out of my pocket. Silly boy.
After dinner I came back and tried to get warm. I've been relaxing and emailing and listening to music. It's been a good night. I only have one class tomorrow, and then it's weekend time! My students are coming over and cooking for me and the other foreigners tomorrow night. It's going to be awesome, I hope.
Oh, something that all my Chinese students say: "You should put on more clothes." They haven't done it to me in a few days, but Sunday was super warm. I had a t shirt on. My students told me I needed to put on more clothes. I just explained to them that I wasn't cold and that I didn't need more clothes. I told Jessi about this, and she sent me a Skype message reminder last night to put on more clothes. I told her thank you for the
reminder this morning.. as though I didn't know it were cold.
They also will tell you that it gets really cold here so you need to take care of yourself. I guess they all think that getting a cold comes from being cold.. but even the assistant dean of the English department told me that. It's crazy. I even had a girl write me a note that said that.
Anyway, enjoy my snow pictures...
