On lahdettava paivaksi Paraguayhin. Hotelli Residencia Colonin (yosijamme taalla Posadassa) omistaja rouva, jonka englanninkielentaito on tuonut meille monta ilon hetkea, saattoi meidat itse aamulla pysakille, josta saimme paikallisbussin rajan yli Paraguayhin.

We took the first flight from Athens (Greece) at 14th of June early in the morning. After 1h and 15min flight we were at Istanbul's international airport. There is a bus every half an hour to Taksim Sq. Search for Havas sign. Once we settled our stuff in the hotel (very nice hotel by the way) we hit the road to see the city with a great history! One thing that someone first notices in this city is that taxis are moving in an insane way, no turning signals, no stopping at red lights, no priority to pedestrians, no nothing! Be careful! We visited several places and we used all kinds of transportation (at least we've tried). Note that Istanbul is not famous for its good transportation. Following are some of the places we've visited - ... read more

Le ... read more

When I left home I had the idea of trying as many different beers as possible from all the countries we visited. The rules were simple it had to be out of a stubby, or bottle for those of you who don't understand the lingo. The reason being I don't like drinking out of cans, due to squid lips (when you go fishing the cans roll around with the ice and the bait and therefore don't taste that great). I also wanted to compare each beer to one back home, but that wasn't always possible, and sometimes I have even forgotten the name of the beer, as I didn't write it down and the photo isn't that clear. The main point though is to show something different, and is for the boys back home, or any ... read more

Well its looks like I finally have some time to write to you all. Made it to Buenos Aires ok. Is a long time travelling to get here- 27 hours in total- but flights were good. Had two days to wander aroung the city and now i know why they call it the Paris of the americas- i think this place is the same size as France!Oh my god - definitely glad i have lots of time to see the place. Met the group for the trip south and all seem really nice. Flight down to Ushuaia was really scenic as we stopped in El Calafate on the way so the views of the glacier were really great. And on to the ship! Quick tour of the national park before we got on the boat and ... read more

Well Hello and Howdy doody to all, Finally I can´t believe that this little jaunt is over. As you will see by some photos, the TARDIS wasn´t working two weeks ago so unfortunately i had to take the long way down to Ushuaia from Buenos Aires in an Aerolineas Argentina plane. But I finally made it and even had time for a guiness at the local irish pub. I did a little trip around the Tierra del Fuego national park to check out some of the local wildlife and then it was onto the little red boat - sorry ship- i will get that right eventually. Much like a big red freezer really, Good thing i brought my special koala size hat with me to keep my little ears warm. Pity i´m still freezin my furry ... read more

Well we arrived late the other night from Sao Paulo to a really nice hostel just over the border in Argentina. We lucked out getting a ride here and whizzed through the border after skipping a huge line of people and cars, passport stamped we checked into our room (thankfully we reserved in advance). The hostel here is pretty cool, reminds us of a summer camp with a huge common area containing pool tables, table tennis (I beat Jacky twice, she is not very good at table tennis at all) and chess. A huge pool, nice bar and questionable restaurant round off the delightful paradise just outside of Puerto Iguazu. Yesterday we visited the falls, which were quite breathtaking, the hikes got me excited since I need to get ready for Patagonia, but unfortunately they were ... read more

Antarctic Peninsula Eh? This might be a longer email but hey....one can´t possibly skip the details. Our ship was quite a collection of oddballs but I guess that´s what makes it fun. The first day we were crossing the Beagle Channel so everything was cool. The next day, we start crossing the Drake Passage. I thought I was going to be a hero and find out if I get sea sick or not. (Mind you, that the drake passage has the roughest waters in the world). The answer came the next day, about 2 hours after breakfast. I wasn´t feeling like US$1.5 million and after I recycled my breakfast the second time, I thought: ´´Hey, maybe, just maybe it is time to see a doctor and take some pills. So that is exactly what I did. ... read more
