continuing onward... woke up quite early on sunday morning for another delicious breakfast with the fam. we were in for a real treat because we got to watch Nick Lachey perform on the Oxygen network while we dined, haha. silly moroccans. saying our farewells and heading outside, we met up with the group and piled into the van for our four hour ride into the Rif mountains. there we were to have lunch with a family and talk about life there, etc. on the way there i considered using the bathroom, but then reevaluated my decision. after all, it had only been 4 days since i had gone last. the ride there was decent; i slept a lot of the time. as we got closer to the mountains it reminded me a bit of Honduras, but ... read more

I know i was going to make everyone jealous but i'm not sure this entry will work. For a start it's been raining non stop until this morning, although now it's finally sunny and everything's hanging out to dry. Spent a couple of nights in Spain and visiting Gibralter which was v.unexciting. Adventure started when we reached Morocco...3 hour border crossing because Han is from South Korea but his passport just says Republic of Korea! By this time it was getting dark and raining again. First time I pitch a tent and it's in the dark in torrential rain, argh!! I didnt dare move lqst night in case I ... read more

Good day! We had a wonderful trip and we're quite pleased with nearly all aspects of the trip! I'm happy to share our experience and our impressions with you... Thanks to her, we were able to end our trip on a GREAT note! We *really* enjoyed our time in Tangier Morocco and would have liked to have stayed longer! Nezha took us to some great restaurants... understood and respected our wishes/requests... kept us engaged and interested... and laughed with us (even when we were laughing at ourselves! :)... She was friendly, conversational, fun, personal, knowledgeable and all-around WONDERFUL! I only have two regrets: 1) that I was a bit harried at the port as we left, so I didn't give her as personal farewell as I would have liked... Most people who think of Morocco think ... read more

Wow this place is nuts!!! I have never experienced anything lilke it really. The closest thing I can think of is the Dominicqn Republic. We cruised down the Costq del Sol and saw Gibraltar and learned thqt monkeys live there and are cared for by the Brits. We took a ferry over from Spain to Africa. The sea is beautiful. We arrived in the early evening and thqt is Where the qdventure begins. PS The Q is where the A should be and I am paying by the minute so there will be typos. Our hotel which has an interesting humid sewer smell is right across from the beach. It is nice enough and clean enough, but very simple. Zane and I decided to check out the beqch before dinner. I was amazed at the amount ... read more

Being in Morocco is exhausting. The buses are always late, you're always paying someone something for something and there's a constant battle between you and people who want to rip you off, sell you things, show you around, "make massage", invite you to their house for mint tea, marry you, etc.... On top of all that, I think I need to start wearing a t-shirt that says "NOT JAPANESE!" But really, it's worth it. I love Morocco!! From Fes we went down to the Sahara and camel trekked through the Erg Chebbi (massive dunes) and camped out with the Berber nomads of the desert. We had an amazing time learning Arabic and Berber, playing drums, and drinking tea under the desert night sky. Everyone we met out in the desert was incredibly friendly and hospitable. It ... read more

After several wonderful days in Marbella, we packed up and started our journey towards Morocco. We drove all along the Spanish coast, which is absolutely stunning, quite picturesque, especially at one point where there are hundreds and hundreds of the wind turbines blowing at full speed. From the car I could see Gibraltar, the English territory in the south of Spain. We crossed the straight of Gibraltar at Tarifa and took a 40 minute ferry to Tangiers, which would be my first venture into African territory. Immediately upon arrival into Tangiers, I could really sense the complete difference in my surroundings and I knew that the next 8 days in Morocco would be absolutely stunning and something to remember for a lifetime. Tangiers is considered one of the most international cities in Morocco. A lot of ... read more
