On Saturday we went to an Australian rules football game woo. It's a crazy sport that aussies, especially in Melbourne and most of south Australia, live for. We went with the hostel on this group tour thing that included a briefing about the rules and lunch. There were only about seven of us from the hostel that went but we had a guide that used to play so it was nice to be constantly informed about what was going on. I loved it but god it was soo freezing. Me and Mo were only wearing hoodies so we pulled them over our heads and scrunched the cord super tight so that only our eyes were peeking out. Fun times. Sunday was go by-the-seat-of-our-pants day. We wandered aroudt the Italian district of the city for most ... read more

G'Day Mates ( It's Good Friday and we are heading nothwards towards the Grampians. And as we travel the sky gets darker and darker, before we see Mt Sturgeon and Mt Stokes, at the stat of the Grampians we been through pouring rain. However when we arrive at Dunkeld, they have not had the rain, but desparately need it!! It's Easter weekend and we are told at the I-site that all the camps are fully booked, but the ranger finds us room at Halls Gap at the Grampians Gardens. So off we head, and as we travel we pass forest that was severly burnt in January. It is all showing great signs of recovery though, amazing how regrowth can occur on such badly burnt trees. But it is all part of the ecology of Australian Bush, ... read more

....only to come back, well it was only a weekend away after all. yeah so that was exciting stuff me and my pal caleb went up to the grampians for those not in the know its a national park in victoria about 270km north west full of mountains, hills, wildlife and people who say fair dinkum. ok so what do you want to know? well the grampians recently had a bit of a fire problem that being that half the place was on fire, but it had a very strange beauty to it a little bit mad max if you know what i mean, anyway we stayed at a place called 'tim's place' so anyone going to halls gap should stay there as tim is the man who says fair dinkum and i'm not promising anything ... read more

Buschfeuer im Grampians Nationalpark Hallo ihr lieben zu Hause! Hoffe, euch geht es allen gut! Unser Trip laeuft bisher ganz klasse.

....so we left the Great Ocean Rd. and headed northwest to Grampians National Park. First stopped to see some koalas and emus in their natural habitat. Later we began to encounter problems when we could spot smoke from a huge bushfire from several miles away. Once we got closer, the road the guide always takes was completely closed. He said he was fairly sure of an alternate route but I could tell that was just to keep everyone quiet. We drive...and drive....and drive some more. It's at this point that I decide to go crazy and eat the better part of a box of Tim-Tams (my new favorite dessert in Oz; chocolate biscuits) because they are melting and of course, I cannot let chocolate go to waste. By about 6:30 pm it is HOT and even ... read more

Tel le docteur Levingstone ("I presume ?

... read more

Hoi allemaal! Nou ja, lang leve MSN, ... read more
