Die Philippinen – ein Inselparadies Oh die Philippinen! Sie sind soooo schöööön. Es ist hier genauso wie man es sich vorstellt: Paradiesische Strände, Palmen mit leckeren Kokusnüssen, tolles Meer und wunderschöne Landschaft. Die Philippinen bestehen aus 7.107 Inseln , man muß sich also erstmal entscheiden auf welche Inseln man will und wie man dann dort hinkommt – entweder mit dem Boot oder per Flugzeug. Der Plan war drei verschiedene Inseln in 2,5 Wochen zu besuchen. Die einzige Flug-Option von Brunei aus war der besagte „gesegnete“ Flieger abends um 22:30 Uhr. Kurz nach Mitternacht landeten wir sicher in Manila und weil wir hartgesottene Reisende sind, wollten wir am Flughafen übernachten, da es schon um 6 Uhr morgens weitergehen sollte. Täglicher Weckruf um 4:50 Uhr und Frühstück mit Orang-Utans Man weiß, dass man wieder auf der Südhalbkugel ist, sobald ein vergessener Brotkrümel eine Horde gieriger Ameisen aus dem Nirgendwo anlockt. Oder Küchenschaben und streunende Katzen unter den Restaurant-Tischen auf der Straße herumlungern. Wir sind hier! Ab sofort kommt Müsli nur noch in den Kühlschrank. Mensch, die Insekten habe ich nun echt nicht vermisst. Ich hatte auch ganz vergessen wie mich jegliches Insekten-Viehzeug liebt. Europäisches Blut ist halt ein leckerer Cocktail für jegliches Mückenzeug. Wie gut, dass es Insektenspray gibt. Aber das sind halt die Nebensächlichkeiten, die ich gerne in Kauf nehme. Der Flug nach Kuala Lumpur verlief sehr gut und unser Freund Otti hat uns netterweise bei sich für ein paar Tage in seiner 300qm Wohnung im 17. Snow in Ecuador and Foam Attacks in Colombia White Water Rafting Adventure After our stint on the Galapagos Islands we spent another 2 weeks in Ecuador. We participated in various adventure sport activities in Banos. One day we sped down a raging river and on another day we zip-lined over a gorge. White water rafting is a great adrenaline sport. We went through rapid after rapid. There wasn´t really time to just relax. The only time we had to get out of the boat was when we approached grade 6 rapids (the most difficult rapids and you only really do them if you are a hardcore pro). Discovering the Incas Hey people! This is a long one so get yourself a coffee or a wine before you start reading! After surviving the border crossing from Bolivia to Peru we arrived in Cusco at 6am rather tired after a 12 hour bus trip. Our hostel wasn’t able to confirm our room until 1pm so we ended up booking in another place. Funnily enough here we ran into a German guy who we had previously met in the jungle in Bolivia. As it turns out he only lives 5 km´s from my sister´s house in Germany - what a small world. Cusco is nestled among high mountains on 3200m and now represents the archaeological capital of the Inca Empire. Touch Down Bolivia Buenos Dias everybody. Yes that´s right the travel blog of The German Down Under is back. Same structure as before. For the new subscribers usually the first part is in English and second part in German. Or the other way around. It depends on how I feel I guess.
