But it really doesn't feel like Christmas this year!!Brian & Jane (from EYC) arrived at Dinner Key Mooring field today. We are happy they are here so that we can do Christmas with close friends. It's feels pretty strange that we aren't sorting out schedules between family this year. In past years we'd be planning our time between pre-Christmas at Jim and Izzy's, staying at Marg & Dave's for Christmas, with Sarah and Will, where Mackenzie and Madison would join us and we'd all feast and play games. Cette année, nous sommes partis passer deux semaines sur le continent américain. Nous avons commencé par Miami (notre point central, même si c'est le plus au nord), puis nous continuons par une croisière aux Bahamas et après un retour à Miami, nous sommes partis passer quelques jours au Costa Rica avant de revenir à Miami pour enfin rentrer à Paris. 2 avril 2010 : Nous arrivons à Roissy une bonne heure avant l'embarquement. Le hall est plein à craquer et on se fait engueuler parce qu'il fallait arriver 3 heures avant l'embarquement. C'est vrai que les temps ont changé et que c'est la première fois que je prends l'avion pour les Etats-Unis avec tous les contrôles qui vont avec. I got up early again today, Yet again I drove down to the beach. Wasn't a lot going on but the weather was a bit better. I stopped on Washington and bought myself a cheap towel and some new flip flops and I walked to Footlocker and bought some Nike Free Trainers which are MINT! Perfect for my travels next year. I spent most of today sunbathing on the beach. I found a parking area where I could keep the car all day on 5th Avenue. After my day of sunning it I went back to the hostel, downloaded all my pictures, watched Hungergames and then chilled out with the girls for the rest of the evening. Today, the last day of holiday had been the most anticipated day as everyone had been talking about the weather as it was due to be hot hot hot (it had been cloudy and rainy all week) I was in the hostel main area for 7.20am. I had checked in on line for my return flight, printed off the boarding pass and checked out of the room. Breakfast, Bagels and Cheese was served at 8.15am. I munched them down. I went to the beach at 9am. I parked in the different place, this time outside Starbucks. When I got out of my car a gay American guy approached me and starting chatting me up... After a great nights sleep, up early to head off to the airport to drop the car back :-((, filled up with gas and drove the short journey to the airport, efficient straightforward process as we had grown used to here in the US. Said goodbye to Billy The Buick and sadly handed the keys over, what a great car, comfortable, spacious, fast and big!! Grabbed a taxi and off to Port of Miami!! Arrived in the port with three massive cruise ships docked and towering above the terminal buildings, greeted by friendly personnel and welcomed into the vast terminal area, efficiently passed through customs and found some seats amongst hundreds of other early arrivers!
