Hi, We are on our way!! Thank you for all, the well wishes on the blog! And thanks to everyone who came to our bake sale in Canyon yesterday. It was a huge success! We are on the plane now to Miami where we will stay overnight and leave for Haiti in the morning. I thought this would be a good time to write more about our trip and our team. The plan Still on the plane so I will keep going ☺ As I wrote before, bringing a medical team to Belle Anse has been our goal since we first created Sionfonds. So it has been 4 years of planning. Here are few quick notes and pics of us tonight we are staying at the embassy suites hotel, So far we jammed up an elevator with our giant pile of duffle bags, we weren't sure if it was the weight or size...... then we did some sort of Laurel and Hardy put a bag or person out and then leave it on one floor going back down and then up. Voilà, c'est fait, nous avons passé notre premier weekend à Miami, je rappelle qu'il faut prononcer Mayami pour que ces chers américains nous comprennent. Our plane arrived in Miami on Saturday evening from where I travelled to the Holiday Inn Motel for the evening - a motel with two towers! It's now Sunday morning and I am at the Miami airport, preparing for my flight to Guatemala City. It takes a while to negotiate the American travelling system, but once you understand it, it works well. However, one needs plenty of time at airports here. Airport security is very tight. There seem to be lots of people travelling in wheelchairs here - and consequently plenty of people looking after them, which is nice to see. [View Full Entry]

Hello to all back home, thus far Miami has been terrific Natacha and i and a few of her friends went to Orlando for the Halloween Horror nights and it was awsome. They did such a good job with the haunted houses. Every single one had a different theme, for example one of them that we walked through was like it was built out in the sticks with a bunch of red necks running around but they were all completely insane. The walls were all stained and the plaster falling off in certain places exposing the rotting timber slats behind. The [View Full Entry]

Miami - big beach, big people, big food, big storms, big bigsWe left La Paz as it started to snow and blew into Miami at the roasting temperature of 38 degrees....with our fingers and toes thawing in the balmy weather, we spent our time acclimatising to the heat, to the healthy food portions, and to the fact that everything suddenly cost 100 times what we were used to paying in bolivia! it was only a short stay, but sweet enough for us to taste a deliciously sickly slice of cheesecake from the reknowned cheesecake factory, pretzels with gooey dipping cheese, and [View Full Entry]

hello my fellow bloggers, since my last update from the tour of Scotland I have been spending some time in Barcelona catching up with a mate that i met earlier in my travels, her name is Kelly. We spent a about a week relaxing under the sun down at the local beach with a few beers and a bag of chips.........life is grand. I want to thank everyone for the well wishes and words of encouragement so carefully crafted on the back of many a t-shirt. I hadn't realize how many wonderful people I've been so fortunate enough to call friends and family until I was compelled to take stock over the last few weeks. Thank you so much.
