After our departure (Viola and myself) the crew of Dawnbreaker were as follows: Lars - Captain Uno, Urban and Thomas - First mate Eva, Sanna and Pontus - deck hands For the first time since our journey started, Dawnbreaker had a full crew + extras. Dawnbreaker has 5 places to sleep with extra if need be (3 extra), then it's the floor for the rest of the crew. So, I left Lars to look after so many members that to cook and keep everyone happy must of been some kind of miracle. 15th August Sunday Longyearbyn to Pyramiden Everyone on board decides, after getting sleeping arrangements sorted, that it would be nice to go somewhere before the Wedding arrangements which starts tomorrow (Monday) with a rehearsal at the Church for the Bride and Groom. I may be crazy but I did it! I finished my chair with ample time to go to Ibiza comfortably and back! It was my 21st birthday present to meet my sister and cousin as they traversed through Spain and I did it! Last Thursday to Sunday I was in Ibiza with Jenny and Jason and their buddies Rex and Stephanie. I welcomed the hot and humid weather and the opportunity to sunbathe and swim as much as possible. We visited caves, the saddest most man-damaged caves I've ever seen. We went parasailing, about 1000 feet into the air over the Mediterranean. We went "scuba diving". We ate a lot of delicious food including the world famous Paella partnered with Sangria.... read more

***For those who don't know...Travelblog.org lost all of our blogs. :( Luckily we got them all back though - minus the photos from this last entry. So the photos I have put up are all I could recover without starting all over again. Enjoy...*** Hello again everyone...once again I'm on a crazy French keyboard, but I think I'm getting the hang of it slowly. We are currently on our last day in Paris. Since our last update however, we have spent another lovely day in Nice, been on a cruise to St. Tropez to hang with all the rich and famous, went to gorgeous Switzerland and both of us flew over the alps, been to Munich and created some havoc in the beer halls and have now been roaming the Parisian streets and watching the Tour ... read more

We made it to Paris today, and all I wanted to see was my precious Eiffel Tower. I have wanted to see that tower (well and of course the rest of Paris) since I was a little girl. My dreams were fulfilled this evening, when we took a stroll to see it. (Of course we will be going to climb it tomorrow morning to see the day view and then again on the night of our anniversary to see the night view. So this will not be my last viewing. But I do have to say, even though it sounds dramatic, that beautiful tower took my breath away. As we neared it, I could see it peeking over the buildings at me and I actually let out an audible gasp, because "she" (that is what I ... read more

Hurra!! Wieeeehhh? Doch dazu mehr morgen!... read more

Whenever a woman moves to a new place, there's always the practical issue of finding a hairstylist she trusts. Jay told me that when ex-wife Maggie visited London long ago she had her hair cut at the Vidal Sassoon Academy. The students did a great job and she has never looked so good since. I was enthused about the idea of a designer haircut at local salon prices, but wary about putting my mostly raven tresses into the hands of a student. I looked up the academy on the Internet and read the user reviews. The reviews said not to worry because an instuctor supervises every stage of the process. Many students are already trained stylists who are learning new techniques. I really wanted to go to Vidal Sassoon because I remember him from tv commercials ... read more

Dawn Writes: So we bought this new luggage before we left with these really cool fold down wheels for easy transport. Unfortunately they weigh 500 pounds each and with the amount that Sean over packed, we ended up having to pay an extra $200 at the airport! I swear he brought every article of clothing he owns and like ten pairs of shoes! But I digress, we decided that we needed to reduce the weight of our luggage so that we’re not paying everywhere we go. We spent the morning looking for cheap light luggage and convincing our concierge to take our heavy luggage off our hands. So we got a bit of a late start to our day, but after haggling for suitcases we were off to the British Museum which is as amazing as ... read more

Gee the title says it all guys! I'm here and I bet y'all are at work mwahahahahahaha ... oops sorry I didn't mean to say that aloud *grin* Okedy dokedy flew into Athens from Prague and checked into a hotel for two nights before starting my Contiki Greek Cruise trip. I very cleverly thought I would book into Pireaus because that is the Port area of Athens where all the boats take off from and very carefully of course read the information about the hotel which says that it was 20 minutes from the Acropolis so first full day there I head off for a walk to see the sights and chill out in Athens for the day .... walking .... walking .... walking ...
