Hi all, We have just returned from an amazing two weeks in Spain (and two nights in Lagos, Portugal), and are now finishing up our one day of downtime (mainly doing washing) in London, thanks to Laura and her housemates who have put us up in their lounge, preparing for our next stint - a flight to Istanbul tomorrow morning at 10am. Before we left I think I mentioned that we were going to the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall on the Tuesday night. Well, we went, and it turns out it wasn't an orchestra after all, but a 13 person choir - not really our thing!! They were definitely very talented, and the first 10 minutes or so was good, but it got a bit boring and both of us ended up nodding off ... read more

Well...we’re almost ready to head off again as ‘travellers’, and have spent the last couple of days packing up our life in London. Since my last update, we have been to Cornwall on the South West coast of England, and have to say that it is one of the most beautiful places we have seen in the country. We hired a car with Ben & Verity and stayed in Newquay for three nights. We visited Lands End, Penzance, St Ives, Perranporth, Padstow, and an amazing castle ruin in Tintagel which had some of the most stunning coastline I have ever seen. We got some really great weather, mixed in with some rain and wind (of course!) and we had a really fun weekend visiting some beautiful towns and partying in Newquay. We also got to see ... read more

I will start with an apology...again! I am very very sorry to all of you that are not in Facebook!! There can’t be many of you though now...surely! ;) I have been super (read: totally) lazy with the travel blog and have just been posting photos on Facebook thinking most people would see them. But, I was shocked to see that March was the last time I wrote an update on our blog, and that a lot of you who like reading our blogs are not on Facebook! So, sorry! So, last time I wrote, we were going to Wales for the Easter long weekend. It was a great trip and one of those places that I wasn’t expecting to be as beautiful as it was. Glorious beaches, rugged mountains, and lots and lots of castles!! ... read more

Firstly, sorry for the looooong time in between blogs! Thanks for the gentle reminder from a few people, so here is the next instalment. :) My last blog was at the start of December, so a fair bit has happened between now and then. The start of December was a bit sad, with Jackie heading back to Oz and leaving us all on our lonesome (well, all 8 of us) at Sisters Avenue...but fun was also had. We had a random day of drinking around London dressed up as Santa??!! It’s called Santacon, and over 1,000 people donned Santa costumes and roamed around London drinking and singing on December 15th. It was a lot of fun as you can see from the photos. We headed up to Preston for a Carter family Christmas. All the Carter’s ... read more

Hi everyone! It’s been a while hey?! So prepare yourself for a long one!! Sorry about that, I do actually have an excuse for why I haven't done a blog for so long! About two weeks after we moved in another girl moved out and she had the internet in her name so unfortunately it went with her to her new place. And it has taken this long for us to get connected again! Actually, at the very moment I write this it is still not quite connected and one of our housemates is calling Orange daily to find out which friggin password we need to use to connect! Turns out it’s in the email they send to your Orange email address! Haha...how clever is that when you don’t have the internet connected yet?! Der! So ... read more

Hi everyone!! Sorry...it’s been a little while since I’ve written a blog, but we have been a little preoccupied with finding a place to live that it’s been all we’ve really been doing other than working and sleeping over the past month! So I am now pleased to announce that we have found a place to live...and it’s in the same house as Jackie!!! How funny, and awesome! We move in tomorrow, and I’m really looking forward to it. It’ll be heaps of fun, and in a few weeks Dave will be joining us as well so we should have some good times. And Dave told me today he is a good cook, so I am waiting to find out if that’s true. Mmmmm!! :) Disappointing though, was that Jimmy and I, Dave, and Laura and ... read more

Hello hello hello!!! Prepare yourself, it's a big one...with LOTS of photos!! We are now safely back in London and on a proper English keyboard (so any spelling errors are just my own this time!) Sorry I have been so slack with keeping this thing up to date but it just ended up being a little time consuming when you have to pay to use the internet. So where did we leave you last? Paris I think? When we had snails for lunch... :) Well since then we have been to a lot more places and taken a lot more photos!!! First up after Paris was the glorious Belgium!! We stopped in Bruges and extended our stay from two to four nights after our first afternoon there. After a look around the old medieval town on ... read more

***For those who don't know...Travelblog.org lost all of our blogs. :( Luckily we got them all back though - minus the photos from this last entry. So the photos I have put up are all I could recover without starting all over again. Enjoy...*** Hello again everyone...once again I'm on a crazy French keyboard, but I think I'm getting the hang of it slowly. We are currently on our last day in Paris. Since our last update however, we have spent another lovely day in Nice, been on a cruise to St. Tropez to hang with all the rich and famous, went to gorgeous Switzerland and both of us flew over the alps, been to Munich and created some havoc in the beer halls and have now been roaming the Parisian streets and watching the Tour ... read more

Hi everyone...I know it's been a while! We are now in Nice in the south of France and I'm sitting in an internet cafe where the keyboard is totally screwed up. The e is where the w should be, the q is where the a should be and heaps more...plus you have to hold shift for a fullstop!! I think this is going to take me a while!!! And you ,ay all have to do a bit of codebreaking. :) So...we've finished up our stint in Italy. We were there for just over two weeks and visited Venice, Rome, Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii, Amalfi, Ravello, Orvieto, Florence, Pisa, La Spezia and the Cinque Terre. We flew from Manchester to Venice on the 28th June and spent two days there. It's an amazing place like nowhere else ... read more

Ah...beautiful Scotland. Rolling hills, quaint villages, gorgeous Edinburgh, bagpipe music. It really is a stunning country (what we saw of it in 2 days anyway). We arrived home last night from our short trip to Edinburgh. We drove up on Tuesday evening and arrived at about 9:30pm. First stop...bars of course. We stopped in at one called 3 Sisters which looked to be quite busy when we drove past it, only to discover that it wasn't really once you got inside. So we moved onto a bar called Rush which had really cheap drinks, was quite busy (for a Tuesday night anyway) and was just across the road from the hostel...and so we made that our home for the next two nights. The first night we had a shot which was labelled 'Smurf Piss' due ... read more
